  1. I can for a bit Khriss, but not for ever.
  2. He does, a ported saw will exceed noise limits put in place by research into hearing by experts etc. (Blah blah) Even with protection in place damage could happen. Don't get me wrong, I’m no safety nazi, but noise is as big an issue as emissions with these modifications, both to the user and the public.
  3. In a similar discussion elsewhere on the internet an experienced logger is asked why he doesn’t use ported saws. He says it’s because he values what he has left of his hearing. Something that hasn’t been mentioned so far on this thread.
  4. You’re prolly right, though the lyrics are (to the modern eye) suspect. Try “working on the highway” Big fan of Bruce as well here btw.
  5. Oh ah just a little bit, oh ah a little bit more, you know what I’m asking for: Gina G (not sure but sounds rude)
  6. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-46413209 You do wonder what other older songs viewed through contemporary #metoo eyes will be swept away into the past. Suggestions please. Under my thumb: Rolling Stones (in relalationship mind control) Mama, he’s making eyes at me: Lena Zavaroni (consent issues) I’m on fire: Bruce Springsteen: (Underage sex)
  7. Nice pics of the pops in front of the flats in the mist.
  8. End of climb line is standard stuff, but I’ll lock the rope round a stub, then lower with two free hands. Biggest problem with it is when the piece entangles itself in the loop of your line. For that reason I’ll try,and keep it for pieces I can easily lift back up to free them.
  9. I have been successfully going to the toilet for over 50 years, so I think I have some experience of the business! I can tell you now that is the breakthrough we’ve been waiting for, I will gladly video myself using your innovative product.
  10. Out of curiosity what sort of tree is it?
  11. Gawd knows how much, property sure is cheap here, and the désertification of rural France (by which I mean the population is leaving for the towns) means it’s not getting any more expensive. Doing them up is pricey however, which is where a lot of plans go awry.
  12. Back in the 60s/70s my old man used to do some coppicing with a mate to supplement his farm workers wages. All gone over now of course.
  13. Easy life today, an hours drive to a job I’d priced on a photo, maiden lime to take out. Felled it in one, leave chip and wood on site. Back on the sofa by 1pm
  14. I guess it must have, they just plumbed it into the loader/bucket system I think. Changed the lever to accommodate a button for opening and shutting the grab.
  15. Depends if it’s been tempered, the silage grab on the MO bends a lot, must be straight up mild steel, this one on the tractor doesn’t.
  16. I was chatting with my groundies recently about compulsive/serial liars. We all remember that one kid who never cured himself of it.
  17. How does that work? Did they pull up in a vehicle and unhitch it off the owners at knifepoint?
  18. Here’s one just up the road, presumably planted at the same time. Might help the ID.
  19. Think on my TW the hydraulic oil got changed after 50 hrs then never again in 13 years.
