  1. Without getting into all that. A couple of years back we worked on the equivalent of a council estate over here subbing for a firm. I will never forget the guy at one house (neither will the guys with me) wife and two kids, he was smoking dope all day, place was a shithole of course. He got his drone out and proceeded to play with it on the street. It was clear how pleased he was with himself, taunting us with his free and easy lifestyle, his wife leaning out the door, looking on adoringly at her clever husband. We cracked on. I wouldn’t swap places with him for one second.
  2. No one said it had to be fun or fulfilling, or that the work should be where it suits.
  3. What about the people on this thread looking for decent firms? Give us a f’rinstance.
  4. You would have thought trying to get a 17 year old to understand and honour a contract is a mugs game. edit, and a bit immoral if I’m honest.
  5. @Old Mill Tree Care is always looking for quality staff, Surrey is nice as well.
  6. I think by any measurement unemployment is low. Those of us (like you) who remember the early eighties, can understand real joblessness especially youth unemployment.
  7. Simple answer to this thread is unemployment at 43 year low according to the news.
  8. Don’t give me too much choice, I get confused and lose interest .
  9. As a genuinely lazy person, I lose interest with numbers and combos, lots of us just walk into the saw shop, throw a chain on the counter and ask for a ‘couple of these please’ Same goes for guide bars. What would interest me more is an offer, say a bar and six chains to fit a specific saw. You have a 150 stihl? Here’s a pack with bar and chains that’ll do you for a year at a bargain price.
  10. https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-cornwall-45008297 Scrolled through and actually read the article, waste of time, no pictures of these breasts. How are we supposed to judge if they’re worth commenting on? Poor journalism imo.
  11. I would say a ZZ, two lengths of rope one at 15/20 meters one at 40 (nothing says newbie like climbing a 6 meter birch with a ridiculously long line. Strop of some description as a secondary line, spikes, a topper and a mid range saw.
  12. Not my best work I’ll admit.
  13. Googly eyes app downloading as we speak.....
  14. No, but trying to sell it as, ‘it’s bad to cut down a healthy tree’ is disingenuous. like I said, I’ve heard it a thousand times. Remember, this is the cynic in me, no real dig at the OP.
  15. Reading this thread again, the cynic in me says that you only like the tree because it annoys the neighbours.
  16. Agreed, if it’s too big now when it’s young, it’s not going to get any better.
  17. Not sure where we’re going here... That looks like an an advertisement for RRs from Saudi or somewhere.
