  1. Now just back the truck up a bit! Engine wise the v1505 is a masterpiece, no need to overhaul it if it runs ok, just filters etc. Otherwise, anvil, rotor bearings, roller blades. How bad is it?
  2. Ahhh, thanks Don, I appreciate the input, i had suspected the Jensen was getting a bit long in the tooth compared to more modern stuff. Think I’ll keep my powder dry so to speak.
  3. Saw it (between dozing) if I was Belgian I’d be gutted to have missed out on the final, a class outfit. we’re not in the same league.
  4. So here’s my scenario. My Forst ST8 has done 2 years now, not without incident, but that’s a different issue. What I have in mind is to get a a328 tracked to keep the hours off the Forst especially on the all day chipping jobs, plus as a back up. 1: They’re very cheap for a hell of a machine (68 horses as opposed to 44 for the forst) 2: In France a British bought road going chipper will be impossible to register, so illegal to tow, and hard to resell, I can easily put the Jensen in the Ifor to get it to the job. I have shown some ankle to a couple of dealers and have seen a vid of one in action. I was kind of unimpressed but there are all sorts of factors, blunt blades, bone dry wood, and that sometimes video doesn’t do them justice. I really want a significant increase in throughput to make it worthwhile. I would have thought a lot of you guys have used a 328 in the past (probably in utility) and a Forst more recently and could tell me if there is a real step up. Thanks in advance.
  5. Pathetic wasn't it? Have you ever seen so many virtue signaling twats in one place?
  6. Strange isn’t it? At 85 my father could still read a paper without glasses as long as he was sat next to the window. I wonder if computer screen usage is a factor.
  7. With my poundland glasses as well, need all the heip I can get!
  8. Back in the mid nineties when I worked in SE London you saw it a lot. I recall (maybe in error) someone on here saying it had disappeared from the London area.
  9. I guess they’ll be a parade. I, for one, will be there, proudly holding a banner ‘well done for not being embarrassingly shit’
  10. But were you viciously tackled by Norman Hunter or Billy Bremner? No? well then that just shows I’m right. (runs away laughing)
  11. Disappointed of course, fate had conspired to offer a route to the finaI but we couldn’t grab it. Kane was off the pace since Colombia, he was rarely in the six yard box when the wingers got to the byline. Gave them nothing to cross to. At least we’ve heard the last of that song for a few years.
  12. Where does it say he wants to move to the US?
  13. Call me a masochist but I often peruse the Daily Mail comments for jewels. This one made me laugh out loud, bloke compares Fellani favorably to the Brazilian striker Jesus.
  14. We all understand, it’s frustrating when you waste your time. But it comes with the territory I guess. I related a story on here a while back where I drove a similar distance for some hedge removal and felling a Lombardy, they told me they were going to do it themselves, but wanted to know how much money they were saving!
  15. It’s a free market economy, charge what you like. The comparison with bricklayers and electricians is not valid because they have a fixed job to do, easily quantifiable. I’ve been ‘that’ guy undercharging compared to other more experienced, better equipped outfits, now I’m the other side of the fence, getting undercut by startups with tiny chippers thinking €200 in your pocket is a result. I’m not going to tell people to charge more, I don’t suppose they’d listen anymore than I would have. I will often lose easy stuff to the little guys, they get knocked out of the ball park by me on the larger scale work. In 10 years I’ll wager they’ll either have geared up or got pissed off with the hard graft and left the business.
  16. What’s with all the multiple postings?
  17. Haix do from 4 upwards according to their site. https://www.abbeypro.co.uk/subprod/haix-chainsaw-boots-0000739.aspx
  18. Jersey Tiger Moth, lovely thing, tried to get that flash of red when the wings open, half succeeded.
  19. I saw a vid of a Croat player (Vida i think) saying that the victory was for Ukraine. This should enrage the Russian fans and maybe make them less hostile towards our players.
  20. Bloody typical, this is going to create uncertainty with the lads in Russia before the semi against Croatia.
  21. Couple of questions: Are those climbing wall grip things on the trunk? And are you Papa Lazarou?
