  1. They get more traffic to the story, more advertising revenue. So over dramatic headlines are used. I believe that’s how it works anyway.
  2. Serious stuff, nicely done. Could you get the loader to the bottom of the tree?
  3. Are front line health care workers on minimum wage? I think not.
  4. Just as a point of info. I pay €1023 per month in NI for myself in France. €440 for my employee.
  5. You often get that, depending on how big the tree is/was it usually dies off fairly quickly.
  6. AVS fencing supplies in Rudgwick are local to you.
  7. I have had a bit of a spate of nicking phone lines with a polesaw (three in the last year) Easy enough fix with a bit of copper wire and some insulation tape if it’s a single feed. Snicked 1 Line of a 6 line paired feed recently, so out they came. Lots of tutting and shaking of heads but they sorted it out for free, which was nice.
  8. Thanks for the update. Happy chipping.
  9. Not 100% I did end up paying the VAT out of my own pocket!
  10. I think Chris thinks this is probably going to appeal to a private individual rather than a company. Having bought plant in both situations, if the seller just dismisses the idea of not charging VAT you tend to just nod your head and stump it up.
  11. I mean you could sell it and get the chèque made out to your wife or whatever. But you have received a tax relief on it when you bought it, it’s on your books as an asset so if they come round they’ll want to see it. Just bang on the VAT, someone will have it anyway and it won’t cost you anything.
  12. If you are VAT registered and you sell an item you must charge VAT. I did as you hope to with a chipper, ended up paying the vat out of my own pocket afterwards.
  13. I hadn’t realised they were so light. Only 30k as well. Watching vids on YT. Atm.
  14. Is that right you can tow the lot behind a pickup?
  15. Seems a bit of overkill having that (albeit small) forestry machine on a lawn, but minimal damage I guess.
  16. Work is work, but I’d find it difficult biting my tongue with such an inefficient set up.
  17. I saw that, but decided not to comment.
