  1. Not really Mark, but thanks for chiming in. There might be an issue with the ignition unit, which has already been replaced once.
  2. Small 2 stroke engine being hammered day in, day out, will do it.
  3. My 2511 is a temperamental bitch, so much so I don’t bother with it anymore. As for sharpening the little picco chain I used the 4mm file, much easier, takes a lot off but at least it’s doable.
  4. In other words the disc gets smaller but stays as thick.
  5. ‘Unsympathetic heavy pruning’……on a lime? Some mistake surely? They love it.
  6. I was watching that on some channel or other recently, they cut that scene!
  7. Oh ye of little faith! Depends who gets involved, I enjoy the theoretical jousting between the legal savvy bods on here. Learn some stuff as well, as do others. Bloke’s been polite and asked some clear questions. Don’t get involved fair enough, but telling him to ‘go away’ seems churlish.
  8. No 10 looks like a tough wank, might be a clue there. Edit, looks like a midfield tank.
  9. Trans women are women! Outrageous that these brave Iranian Wimmin are being discriminated against. Mick. Preferred pronouns Zhe or Zhis
  10. Don’t be such a grouch Kevin, seems like reasonable questions.
  11. Maybe so, but I’m the closest so far!
  12. 1.5 tonne for the pine. 4.5 for the sycamore.
  13. Yes, placement is key I suppose.
  14. My nephew uses one a fair bit with one of the firms he works for. Does speed work up a bit (a lot) but you have to approach the job differently he says. You can prepare the stuff for the chipper up there, strip it out ready for chipping when it hits the ground. I’m mulling over getting one, lot of moolah, but they hold their value so when I fold the biz I’ll get some back.
  15. Do you do a lot of MEWP work Joe? Worth getting one you reckon?
  16. I liked him best as the spoon salesman in Fawlty Towers.
  17. Fair point, I’ll explain. I had a rigging point back towards the central stem with a rigging ring, we had taken loads of stuff with it successfully. I went out on the limb with every intention of using it to bring the limb round in one or two goes. Once out there I was unsure it wouldn't drop too far before the rope caught it, plus there would be a huge swing towards the house and it would be too dynamic if you know what I mean. So I decided to keep the rigging point but use some natural crotch (ie. A half hitch) to rope the end of the limb off itself in two goes. I couldn’t be arsed to haul up another pulley or ring to make it smooth or (as my nephew suggested after seeing the clip) use a zipline so I did a self lower using natural friction.
  18. I’m waiting for the No7 bus, do you know when it’s coming? I get confused you know.
  19. Client just sent me some pics, Caption competition. ’start you bastard saw!’
  20. Do you mean the self lowering bit?
  21. Bought it at a brocante a few years back, 3 mètres of wire strop with a thimble spliced eye each end. There was 2 or 3 for sale brand new. To this day I don’t know why I didn’t get the lot €15 each!
  22. 25 ft circumference at dbh. (Not that we took it out completely) Big enough to be taken seriously for sure.

  24. Yep there will be buzzing in the winning changing room afterwards!
