  1. My chipper stopped out of the blue. It restarted and is running now, plenty of oil and not overheating. I am on site without manuals. This code came up, any ideas?
  2. Nuts isn’t it? Everybody is cancelled or whatever for past texts or stuff. Funny how David Walliams and Matt Lucas never got in trouble for Little Britain though.
  3. Well so what? I don’t see how or why the OP bought the house has any relevance to the debate about heave.
  4. If that’s a sycamore, then it’s fine, post a pic July next year.
  5. Ha ha! Jobs like that wake you up in the middle of the night decades later!
  6. I reckon you’d put one branch in before realizing you’d made a horrible mistake. Ridiculously high hopper, stuff of nightmares.
  7. Hell is the word for that, hoped it’s priced accordingly?
  8. Jesus, he’s off and running.
  9. Bit of a ‘clean out’ there, my old boss would say (if I overdid it) that it looks like gutted heron. Not one for the purists, but you did what you were asked and got paid, good job.
  10. Bloody hell! Impressive, he looks as pleased as punch with himself.
  11. First thing to ascertain is the soil type.
  12. All twisted willows seem to go this way unless regularly hammered.
  13. The lack of rental machines and the cost doesn’t help either. in reply to @Ty Korrigan
  14. Well, I did have a back up, a Forst ST8, or was the Schliesing a back up for the Forst? I don’t know really. I flogged it and kept the money. 15k seems a lot of money as a just in case, but here we are. I am pleased that the two chippers cover different jobs, but can cover each other in an emergency. Keeping two similar chippers if you are a one gang outfit, just in case, is not sensible IMO.
  15. Same 3 cylinder Kubota and side by side rollers as the QC I think. I like it already!
  16. Bought it. Nothing for hire in the area. I’ve been off for more than 12 working days cos of lack of chipper, that’s costly. I have wanted to get a good sub 750kg for a bit so anyone can tow it. Lots of work doesn’t need anything bigger anyway. There was a TW230 near this one in Paris which would have been my preference but it was an ex hire job and looked shabby. I’m happy with this, getting someone to feed it is the next conundrum!
  17. Anyway, with the Schliesing waiting for parts and work backing up I got this. I think it complements the Schliesing well in the sense that it’s a very different machine. Seems clean and tidy, chips nice, all new cutting wheel and bearings after a non patent blade disintegration at the cost of €6k in August (I have the receipts)
  18. It’s being done at an agricultural dealers, they will source it direct from the manufacture (of the pump) so hopefully I won’t biting my pillow too much. (your German currency joke noted and appreciated btw)
  19. Could be worse, at least the issue is found, hopefully back in the game by the end of the week.
  20. Hydraulic pump on the Schliesing chipper. Bugger!
