  1. https://www.radmoretucker.co.uk/shop/garden-machinery/chainsaws-tree-care/petrol-chainsaws/makita-ea6100p45d-petrol-chainsaw-18/ In budget, brand new and tackle most jobs.
  2. Could drill a hole big enough for a self tapping screw and then pull out with pliers or similar.
  3. Unfortunately, it will also be an opportunity for unscrupulous types to kill off a lot of healthy ash trees claiming that they are dangerous/diseased.
  4. Is there a way of bleeding the manual side of the pump?
  5. I get all my bits here https://www.newsawchains.co.uk/pages/product-result?q=md_husqvarna~io_385~ky_28-70cm~an_1-5mm-0-058~ac_3-8
  6. Don't ask mate, it will make you cry!?
  7. I don't understand quoting to not get the job or if you don't want it, why not just say no thanks? Is this not potentially ripping people off?
  8. What's a mastermind saw Andrew, sounds interesting. I'm still thinking about a 60cc saw, but can't make my mind up between 6100 and 560.
  9. Everyday is a school day
  10. You would, but it's not, we want vid! Or the midnight stealth step-cut ?
  11. Don't just tell us how it goes, we need video ?
  12. Is that going to work on snappy H/C?
  13. Skip forward to about 6.50
  14. Where are the pics Ken, been home two days now. Must of run out of buttons and switches to play with ?
  15. Made one of these croc type things years ago. Had just bought a welder and was knocking u metal projects left right and centre. I soon got tired of picking up logs off of the floor. For the diy/home logger, I don't think you can beat those portec type logging benches that you clamp a chainsaw to. Bought one 15 years ago and it still lives. I extended the legs on it so the logs drop straight into a wheel barrow and then wheeled straight to the splitter.
  16. I think the 441 was the most characterless and unimpressive saw I have ever used, but each to their own. I'm thinking about another saw and would quite like a 462, but I can't justify the price. Might go the 560 route.
  17. They do it to cause pointless debates on forums ?
  18. .......and it was the 461 listed as 20" ? https://www.stihl.com/STIHL-power-tools-A-great-range/Chainsaws-saw-chains-guide-bars/Petrol-chainsaws-for-forestry/22099-131/MS-461.aspx
  19. Says 25" here? https://www.stihl.co.uk/STIHL-Products/Chainsaws-and-Telescopic-Pole-Pruners/Petrol-chainsaws-for-forestry-work/279876-130/MS-462-C-M-Forestry-Chainsaw.aspx
  20. 462 kicks out 6hp and weighs just 6kg, how can that not be powerful for a 70cc saw? That's more punch than the makita 7900 and that's no slouch.
  21. Easier said than done I know, but if you aren't going to do anything about it, don't waste your time and effort worrying about it. Enjoy the time off with family and start fresh in the new year ?
  22. So lets get this right. You sat inside a dry van and then sat inside the house, in the dry, having a brew whilst poor auntie unloaded logs in the rain ?
  23. Didn't need to look out of the window this morning to know it wasn't going to happen. Spent the day in the shed tinkering on the motorbike.
  24. Shame. If it had 22" rims and spinners I would be interested!?
  25. Whereas, I love doing firewood and find it relaxing (see, we are all different) and if I can earn doing it, then that's a bonus. I have more motivation working with people than on my own. I lack self confidence, so find new jobs or situations a mix of scary but exciting. It's easier to beat yourself up about the things your not doing or should be doing, but sometimes it's actually ok to say "sod it" and go and walk the dog. CRAP! Look at the time, I better get going, I'm actually getting payed to split logs today!
