  1. Cheers guys. I am leaning towards the 462, but then I went and handled a 500i. Only slightly heavier side by side, but still a light saw for what it is and only £90 more ?
  2. I know neither have been out that long, but are they proving reliable so far and people happy with them. Thinking about a kind of do-it-all saw and either of these two would fit the bill, just can't decide which one. Been impressed with my 560xp, so quite keen on the 572, but the lighter 462 looks tempting.
  3. Hhmmm, not sure how that affects machine drivers in their warm waterproof cabs though! ?
  4. Jeez, fancy getting caught in a photo while wearing a shirt like that!!
  5. Yep, can't see the attraction of being a subbie cutter, when there is all this form filling fun to be had!!?
  6. Thanks, will check that out ?
  7. It's not for me as such, so it will be painted. Something from the Cuprinol garden shades range of paints. The preserver that I already have is solvent based, so not sure if that can be painted over.
  8. Got one of those mass produced "log cabins" on the way. 28mm thick planed logs, t&g floor and roof. It all comes untreated. It will be painted at some point, colour not decided yet. I need to get it protected as soon as it's up, any suggestions as to what to use that can be over painted soon after?
  9. Good luck with it Mike (met you briefly when you came down to see Jonathan) Make the most of any quiet time you have now, because if you take off like J has, your free time is over.?
  10. See that one third from the left, I had that one named after the mrs for an xmas present! True story.?
  11. Echo 390 esx would fit the bill. Thinking about getting one myself, just looking around for the best price.
  12. You haven't seen the amount I can eat!?
  13. https://www.milneroffroad.com/mitsubishi-uk-europe/shogun-sport/k94-2-5td-81998-22009/k94-suspension/k94-suspension-anti-roll-kit-rear Cheap as chips!
  14. Not sure how different they are, but I think it was a 192, my mistake.
  15. The 190 has a very restrictive baffle on the 'zorst. Guy I used to work with had one and it seemed such a pointless saw. We took the 'zorst off and had a look. We drilled a 9mm hole right opposite the exhaust port and the saw was transformed. It realy was a night and day difference.
  16. Not looking at new, seen a three year old one for similar money to a 181. No logging, just something to use for very small trees, brashing and coppicing type work.
  17. Anyone use the back handled 201 as a lightweight general purpose saw? Are they any good?
  18. Is there an inner and outer face of the sprocket, as in spaced out further if fitted on one way or the other?
  19. I don't find the makita/dolmar nylon filters to be much good, they let a lot of fine dust through. Their flock ones offer better filtration.
  20. I think it was released here in 2017, not sure about other parts of the world. Wouldn't be hard to make a 560 look like a 562. I would think a husky dealer should be able to confirm from the serial number.
  21. I think if you go against your wife you will have yourself "a domestic splitter"?
  22. https://www.sparetoolparts.co.uk/checkout/cart/ Same part number, is it the same thing?
  23. Call it a bodge, quick fix or whatever, but I had a leak from the gasket on a saw right under the exhaust. I cleaned the area with de-greaser and rubbed over with wet and dry and then used the black heatproof silicone glue that you fix fire rope into wood burner doors with, and ran a short bead over the leak. That was well over a year ago and is still holding fine.
