  1. Where are the pics Ken, been home two days now. Must of run out of buttons and switches to play with ?
  2. Made one of these croc type things years ago. Had just bought a welder and was knocking u metal projects left right and centre. I soon got tired of picking up logs off of the floor. For the diy/home logger, I don't think you can beat those portec type logging benches that you clamp a chainsaw to. Bought one 15 years ago and it still lives. I extended the legs on it so the logs drop straight into a wheel barrow and then wheeled straight to the splitter.
  3. I think the 441 was the most characterless and unimpressive saw I have ever used, but each to their own. I'm thinking about another saw and would quite like a 462, but I can't justify the price. Might go the 560 route.
  4. They do it to cause pointless debates on forums ?
  5. .......and it was the 461 listed as 20" ? https://www.stihl.com/STIHL-power-tools-A-great-range/Chainsaws-saw-chains-guide-bars/Petrol-chainsaws-for-forestry/22099-131/MS-461.aspx
  6. Says 25" here? https://www.stihl.co.uk/STIHL-Products/Chainsaws-and-Telescopic-Pole-Pruners/Petrol-chainsaws-for-forestry-work/279876-130/MS-462-C-M-Forestry-Chainsaw.aspx
  7. 462 kicks out 6hp and weighs just 6kg, how can that not be powerful for a 70cc saw? That's more punch than the makita 7900 and that's no slouch.
  8. Easier said than done I know, but if you aren't going to do anything about it, don't waste your time and effort worrying about it. Enjoy the time off with family and start fresh in the new year ?
  9. So lets get this right. You sat inside a dry van and then sat inside the house, in the dry, having a brew whilst poor auntie unloaded logs in the rain ?
  10. Didn't need to look out of the window this morning to know it wasn't going to happen. Spent the day in the shed tinkering on the motorbike.
  11. Shame. If it had 22" rims and spinners I would be interested!?
  12. Whereas, I love doing firewood and find it relaxing (see, we are all different) and if I can earn doing it, then that's a bonus. I have more motivation working with people than on my own. I lack self confidence, so find new jobs or situations a mix of scary but exciting. It's easier to beat yourself up about the things your not doing or should be doing, but sometimes it's actually ok to say "sod it" and go and walk the dog. CRAP! Look at the time, I better get going, I'm actually getting payed to split logs today!
  13. You haven't met Ken yet John, he has supernatural powers? What you need Ken, is to find a nicer, more solid version of what you have. There must be one out there. Nice silver one would suit ya?
  14. Would like to get £130 + postage.
  15. Thanks. I have just bought a versacut 18" bar for my ea5000 and noticed how light it is. The sugi is even lighter, are they worth over trice the price?
  16. Anyone be interested in buying a pair of Arbotec scafell lite boots, size 12 in black and only worn for one day? I have strange heels and because of the hard backs on these, there is no way I can use them. Just a quick gauge for any interest.
  17. Housing developer wouldn't even notice the fine. Not the first time is it.
  18. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-46380554
  19. Did you use the decomp valve, if so, don't. Mine doesn't like starting with that pressed in.
  20. Anyone know what the lightest 18" bar is, that I could mount on my makita 7900?
  21. Never mind mate, things can only get better ? (just kidding with ya)
  22. I don't think he means 60 cubic inch, that would be about 900cc!! Air filtration doesn't look the best either.

Apologies if this has been posted before.
  24. Just put the canopy back on and it's almost stopped. Oh-well, will see if I can return it. So there you have it, if you have a high top canopy on your stove, don't get a fan!
