You’re not alone mate! Not had a drink in years and can’t think of anything worse than a New Year’s Eve “party”!
  2. If you have £6k why not buy/lease a new one? You have a lot of monthly payments there and a new machine that won’t break down much and a very good incentive to make it pay for itself too! It’s surprising what having payments to make can do for your motivation!
  3. Do a bit of research into China from Say maos time and Tiananmen and see what the Chinese people have had to put up with from the state and then compare it with some trees being chopped down.
  4. I’m not the the one making ridiculous comparisons!
  5. Are you really comparing Tiananmen Square to chopping a few Street trees down?
  6. When I used to commute about 45 minutes to work quite often I would get there and not remember 90% of the journey (from passing the edge of town usually) that always freaked me out a bit!maybe that was the same
  7. It’s obvious to anyone he wants the tree cutting to stop. No need to look that up, doesn’t stop him being a moron though
  8. That protestor is nothing more or less than a moron. The tree was already on the floor. Stop this happening again elsewhere I kind of see but it’s too late in Sheffield now. I do like trees too. Some comments on here from people who make a living chopping trees down do make me [emoji23]
  9. I agree with you again which is worrying [emoji23][emoji23]
  10. I’ve seen that video. If you hold the throttle down that long when it hits you you deserve what happens.
  11. I don’t see how you can tender if you don’t have the specs. You need to know exactly what they want and when it needs doing by. When you know that you can price for it. Then breakdowns of of everything that will be done and importantly anything that would not be inclusive in the price and need to be agreed separately. Include insurances qualifications etc
  12. I agree it’s bonkers money for a mower! You need 5 year contracts with enough grass for 35 hours cutting time per week for 8 months a year to make them pay. Then you’ve got a £2k overhaul bi annually and about £1k on the other years to find I’ve got the smaller 3 gang machine about half the price but will cut around 5 to 5 and a half acres an hour depending how big the area is (less turning more output) But they are able to cut verges and get in tighter areas etc as well where the 5 gang is simply too big. So more scope for work.
  13. No that’s a stand alone machine. Like this http://www.jacobsen.com/ransomes-mp655
  14. These one trick ponies male a lot of money if you can fill the week with one. Your mower attachment is worth is for you as you already have a machine. I couldn’t do the grass cutting I want/ need to do with your multi one machine at all never mind I’m good time. Yes people do have 6,8,10 plus acres of grass, plus huge playing fields/ amenity spaces of 40 acres(the biggest I know of) But cost is the problem £65k now for the 5 gang monsters that cut that amount of grass per hour.
  15. It is but also depends what you use. When you cut circa 30000 per hour it soon adds up. That’s fairly Standard pricing round here on weekly cuts at least for the big contractors. I charge more but get far less work because of it. I don’t know what you use but that would be about 15 mins for me due to too much turning. At your rate that would be £456 an hour. No grass cutting business should have costs anywhere near that rate. I’m thinking you can charge that as big contractors won’t bother with it as they are too focused on small ppm2 that the tiny ones like that don’t add up.

  17. I thought it was a poor pun about felling the trees
  18. If I had that kind of money floating around the last place it would go would be a pension!
  19. That attitude is fine if you don’t need the job........
  20. Better than giving it to the tax man bob!
  21. Can’t believe that not be filled at just shy of £40k paye!
  22. Not with the prices they charge to change oil etc.
  23. Oh I see fair enough, though I’d have filled it up and seen the choir thing. Then sent them a bill! Cheeky batards though!
