  1. Exactly it’s all over the place! The lad that works for me was raped by a white policeman/scout leader when he was young. Sick bastard got 14 years for it.
  2. The church springs to mind!
  3. [emoji16][emoji16] I know mate. Did make me smile!
  4. I did write quite a long post but thought better of it and deleted it, then pressed post by accident! It was along the lines of, “if you want to make more money go spend some and set up on your own then see if the grass is greener!”
  5. Expensive day! You never know they might turn up with the police....... not likely I know. Gutted for you it’s crap[emoji107]
  6. If you push you will be driving over the slits/holes you have just made closing some of them up straight away
  7. http://www.thegreenreaper.co.uk/lawn-scarifiers-aerators/towed-lawn-aerators Have a look at these. Just towed but your machine should be more than capable not saying they are any good mind! Been looking myself but can’t see one that’s good enough paying for itself without a compact tractor which I don’t have!
  8. I’ve just been looking up about HS2. That is going to be a disaster in terms of trees lost but don’t hear much said about it
  9. Why was he given an injunction?
  10. I’ve seen one or 2 videos. One peaceful the other had an idiot in the work area hugging branches from trees that were on the floor trying to stop them being put into the chipper. Do you think it’s a good idea for people to endanger everyone?
  11. How much do you think it would be cost to tear up the contract and think again? Do you think that the contractor is going to say yes no problem we will lose out on “x” million because people don’t like what you’ve decided to do (elected by the people who live in Sheffield) By all means campaign to stop this happening again somewhere else but is it worth someone getting killed because they can’t keep themselves out of the drop zone? Peaceful protests don’t require masses of police and security guards.
  12. That’s fine I’m just relaying what people tell me. Something is wrong. I don’t know what it is. Besides that. Most NHS staff are highly educated and should need very little “management”. Maybe they don’t like it as these I talk to have been consultants for years and maybe used to do things their own way and don’t like being managed now.
  13. Well they say managers but it could mean any admin staff. I don’t know. I do know they all say it, so there must be something in it.
  14. Living half a mile from lincoln county hospital I have lots of doctors as clients. They all bar non say the same thing. Too many managers interfering. Keeping staff in meetings instead of seeing patients. So you are right in that bin the managers (or at least the ones that are simply there to collect a big pay cheque!)
  15. Couldn’t the same be said of ALL public sectors? Police, fire service, teachers the military, local government etc etc. They all cost and don’t “make” money. The navy buying carriers they can’t afford planes for is one example I was talking about last night with someone from the RAF. Why bin the harriers and eventually get some of these new planes. Councils paying out compensation for broken wheels instead of fixing the potholes. The police chasing motorists instead of finding a workers stolen tools. Ofsted changing things constantly so money that could buy equipment or books or extra teachers is spent on changing things. Can you really compare the public and private sector? I’m not so sure
  16. It’s only for 8 months a year and being really honest it’s more like 5 as school is 845-330. So usually start at 930 ish and done for 245.
  17. Fair play. Doing that kind of mileage deserves a good rate anyway! There was a time I’d do 100 mile round trip a day but no longer viable as my work day is only 6 hours (part time I know but suits me as I like collecting kids from school everyday) Besides that I hate driving these days so a 3 mike radius for me!
  18. There is a big chunk of money spent making your £200 plus day rate At government mileage rates that £90. If you work within 15-20 miles £150 won’t seem so bad
  19. It’s bad I agree. It’s just as bad that it takes “months of discussion” to pick a sign for a village hall imo. Then if they are like the parish councils around here they want it yesterday once they have finally decided!
  20. Killing 6 trees out of 100ha is hardly going to make much difference to the canopy is it?
  21. They do say that but it’s rubbish! Use any decent oil properly mixed and they will be fine. Or aspen or the like
  22. Are you being deliberately dim? Farmers want to be paid enough for the product. The people of this country want ridiculously cheap food, it can’t work well both ways. Go buy a farm and see how long you could make it pay WITH the subsidy. To add I personally don’t care what happens now. Farming is dead in my family. I’ll buy about 5 acres with a property when I find the right one but not to work it as a farm
  23. For reason already stated I don’t think they will fall. So again owners won’t care as they own it and will simply either stop producing or let it go wild (since they are all so rich they don’t need more money) 2 the uk is small and they are not making any more land that I can see. 3 all these immigrants need housing so it could get built on 4 prices would rise making your argument pointless anyway. But it will cause yet more problems for tenant farmers as landowners wont want to accept less rent. If you actually took in what I said you would see that I’m not against subsidies being scrapped! I just can’t see it working that’s all
  24. I don’t think it would make any difference to land prices. People with mortgages could not afford to sell. Outright owners wouldn’t care. To add it would be tenants that would be screwed again! Besides that we are in the small uk. Not the states or Russia where land is plentiful
