  1. I’ve heard this before. Have you checked there is actually both fuel filters on the pipes in the tank (one either side of fuel tank) with pipes running of a “t”. The one I heard about didn’t have the filter on one side so when fuel was low the pipe floated to the top and stopped fuel getting through
  2. Like the old pickup truck:) what is it?
  3. We got an email from school instructing us to switch our engines off no matter how many seconds we waited at school drop off/pick up time!
  4. Is this an old fashioned carb one or the stupid mtronic carb and coil?
  5. That may be true but it doesn’t mean it’s the same stuff going to both places! They have different tanks in the tankers. It all comes from immingham round here. I don’t use it from Tesco as the only time the gear plays up is when I do, could be coincidence but I don’t think so[emoji16] I will add the price is the same at shell as at Tesco so why not?
  6. Supermarket petrol is rubbish in 2 stroke stuff generally anyway (someone will no doubt now say they have no problems!)
  7. I doubt that 6kg! I’ve got a stiga version of that strimmer it’s only difference is that the stiga has the full anti vibe handle like the big stihl. That doesn’t weigh much as I’ve taken it off to replace the springs. It’s very very bloody heavy and most of it is the engine! The stihl 400 series are lighter..... but a lot more money with more power. Also that 53cc Kawasaki is a pig to start! It’s powerful and works well though. That said mines been sat doing nothing for a year or more.
  8. Business lease will be tax deductible. It’s a light commercial vehicle. If you use solely for work it will be100% claimable. If not claim a percentage (80 work 20 private as an example)
  9. How many hours a day do you normally have the chipper running? In a domestic setting I can’t see how it would need to be on for that much time providing it’s not tiny?
  10. It’s also true. Every penny we spend on anything becomes part of someone’s income so part of it will go to the tax man. Or it should do I’ll edit that. Not direct as a tax as such but it still makes it way to the tax man
  11. [emoji16][emoji16][emoji16][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  12. I’m fairly sure people come to the uk to see the palace etc all year round! Yes it costs but not much for each of us in tax
  13. It’s not my money is it though! Yes my tax may go towards it but that’s no longer mine (nor was it to begin with really) So no I don’t care, however it does irritate me when people moan about others that are better off than themselves!
  14. That’s a good question it must be a fair amount since you can’t pay for anything in this country without it being taxed in some way.
  15. Is it? To sit there moaning about how much the royals cost is a lot silly imo. It won’t change anything either way. Personally I don’t care as I’m not one who’s bothered at all by how much money someone else has/spends!
  16. Who cares? It’s a small cost in the scheme of things and how much cash will tourists bring into the country this week alone?
  17. Good replies so far but this https://www.agrigem.co.uk/elliots-weed-feed-moss-20kg Is a good general one to kill some moss and generally make it look better which is probably all you are after? Do put less than it’s says on though otherwise it will grow like mad 40gsm is enough
  18. They do still make the Honda ones. Self sharpening blades on them too. Like you say a bit heavy though
  19. Am I being incredibly stupid in wondering why it matters how much a tree weighs? (Unless you are chopping it down for the wood which is guessing this isn’t meant for!)
  20. I thought the rototech were “the best chains in the world”!
  21. I know another farmer with 2000 acres with 2 sons. Neither want it. He’s gutted because 5 generations bought it over time. All paid for. But again not making much for its size and hassle. In reality it should be a license to print money but it ain’t! Can’t afford more than 3 of them to work it (with extra drivers at harvest)
  22. Interestingly in the states they only get 3 tonne per hectare even now. So just over a tonne per acre. They have plenty of cheap land though obviously.
  23. They were getting 3 and a half to four tonne an acre back then too. Don’t believe everything you see on YouTube
  24. I was talking about this yesterday (wheat prices) that was the exact point of the conversation. How can wheat be virtually the same price at the farm gate now as it was 30 years ago? There is a 3200 acre farm just gone up for sale here, the reason for sale is they are fed up of all the hassle for a return that simply isn’t worth the bother when they can sell up and do nothing and live off the proceeds. A harvesting contractor has just gone bust as well £3 million in the hole. The equipment is too expensive the price of food too cheap. The system is broken
