  1. So if you bought genuine ones and they snapped of and decided to fly around a bit before stopping and wrecked the machine would that be covered?
  2. I was told not long ago on here that trees shouldn’t be topped
  3. A few hours ago it was the worlds leading brand now it’s just the leading brand. People don’t like having the wool pulled over their eyes. Good quality non genuine replacement blades is all it needs to be.
  4. True. I should also add that I’ve got no problem using non genuine parts certainly for things that are not life dependent. What bothers me is outlandish claims made on these things such as “the worlds leading supplier”. ive not looked at them or prices of genuine or non genuine chipper blades. But at a guess they are cheaper than original ones? If they are the worlds leading brand I’d expect to pay more for the better quality. people will pay more for decent stuff
  5. I seem to remember being told that about cylinders and bottom blades for the mowers it was utter c***
  6. If you’ve got kids You don’t feel like that , well I don’t anyway! anyway cheap tyres cost more in the end imo
  7. Some would throw cheap tyres on a car which is scary in itself. I would say it false economy to buy cheap blades. I don’t know how much of a pain they are to change but I would think the less often it has to be done the better. I know for my mowers that genuine ransomes cylinders and blades are about 20% more than copy’s but last a third longer.....
  8. Do Timberwolf advise using them too?
  9. I would have thought sending staff home until this blows past was a good idea myself. No point getting killed clearing crap up while it’s still going on. All these trees will still be on the floor tomorrow and if not the day after
  10. The wind has arrived here now and the sun has gone almost back to normal
  11. Same sun colour here! Very odd
  12. What part of the government won’t allow companies to use in house fitters? Unless you are on a some kind of bonus scheme that can be stopped if you break something until it’s paid back he can’t make you pay for it from your main wages. That’s got employment tribunal written all over it It would have to be part of the written contract too.
  13. Yes I get that. It was aimed more at the “its too big” comment. Some of the young lads drive the big quad tracks like lunatics round here. You really don’t want to get in the way of one of those! I think they should have a pick up or something in front down these narrow lanes like they do with the combines on main roads but that cost time and money
  14. Not defending idiot driving in these huge tractor trailer set ups these days. But how else are the farmers supposed to get stuff from field to Yard?
  15. Do as much as you can with ride on mower. Get Honda engine mowers as they have been the most efficient walk behinds I’ve used. If you’ve got a large geographical area then aside from changing van there’s not much to be done on that side apart from only taking what you need, but that doesn’t make much difference. 21mpg is horribly bad though even my pickup will do 27 towing mower
  16. I first saw this on the app with no picture. Still would not fancy it much, but better than hundreds of meters of conifers
  17. Can’t think of anything worse myself!! Good luck
  18. I do understand all that it just seemed like a big percentage drop over a couple of years. Fairly steady then a big drop.
  19. It is too many not getting home. I looked those stats up just now and the first few of those years it was fairly steady then dropped off massively which is obviously good. Does make me wonder why? What changed?
  20. Half the problem is they think they are indestructible when young and in a big tractor they pretty much are! It’s the poor sods they hit that are in trouble. I helped a farmer last week who had helped me out a year or so back tidy up about a quarter tonne of beans that had spilled onto the road because the young lad driving had stamped that hard on the brakes that the beans slid into the front of trailer and out over the top. Probably too many in there but the lad has managed it 3 times in 2 weeks apparently!
  21. I did go in today and they had neither the battery or the hedge cutters in stock to look at sorry
  22. My bg86 started getting hard to turn over and then just stopped! It was the top spring in the recoil the bottom spring was ok
  23. I’m going to a dealer today for an air filter. If they have one I’ll have a look.
  24. So from these replies to my question, it seems that trees have to be allowed to grow as big as possible no matter where they are?
  25. Serious question as I really don’t know. What’s the difference between a crown lift and topping? Surely they both take stuff off the top? I think it’s good saving trees from looking like they have been chopped in half if possible as they look better. I’ve had people ask me to chop small trees down because they don’t want to pay someone the going rate to prune them properly to look good in the place they are in
