  1. watch out with the putting water in the hole! even if there is 360* for the water to splash out of it will nearly always splash up and hit you in the face!
  2. Husqvarna one other thing your best putting a piece of wood between your bolsters on top of the sleeper to make an air space between the logs and the sleeper and this will let you know you've cut the logs and will stop you cutting into the sleeper so much!! Hope that makes sence
  3. Husqvarna post some pictures once you've finished your sawhorse build.
  4. Thats why its posted on here!! every one of us has clicked the link giving one more hit. Good plan Mister Blair:thumbup: I think the site looks fine, not too much clutter and you will have to tweak it a few times to get it right.
  5. No need for a sketch as that's what it looked like before I made the one for the tractor:thumbup:
  6. Does anyone have any plans I can follow so I can make my own or is it designed on the back of a match box? Husqvarna does your saw horse need to be moved or stored inside? Do you have room to store it outside and not have to move it. What material can you work with (can you weld?) As mentioned in earlier post I would use an old sleeper with 4x2 bolted/screwed in at the length of required fire wood. I could knock up a sketch if you could tell me what length the clogs are for your fire!!
  7. Holds about 0.8 m3 with 2.5 m logs, I put brackets on for the loader but i welded them a bit in the high side as i struggle to tip into a tractor trailer with grain sides. It also gives the Husky 390 a work out with a 30" bar:thumbup:
  8. Just make one with an old sleeper and screw in 4 x 2 up the side at the desired clog length and have at it:thumbup: it would be a damd sight cheaper than what your looking at. the sleeper is also good as when you cut to the bottom the saw chain does not get damaged. I used that for a lot of years for all the small stuff. I then made this for the back of the tractor
  9. I got a chip from torquing diesel and i'm never out of 5th gear the best I got on average for a tank full was 34.9 mpg but that was on holiday pottering about at 50 mph holding up all the locals! The chip was the best part of 300 quid but I do love the extra torque and ooompf when needed!
  10. I have a 2009 Hilux invincible and chipped it to 200 HP now getting 33 MPG and 30-31 with trailer. But towing weights not that good!!
  11. I use spiral wrap and burst sleeve from Parquip in Somerset.Hydraulic Sundries.
  12. Flowfit do a 6 way change over valve which is 2 x 3 way bolted on top of each other. Part # 7003.0101 for a 1/2" BSP one.
  13. The problem is where I buy my aspen from he does not stock aspen in 5 lt cans only decants from a large drum into your own cans! So I can't get small cans
  14. The wife complained of a sore head after using the strimmer, so I bit the bullet and bought a jerry can and combi can and filled it with aspen. Although expensive the wife does not complain about a sore head so she keeps doing the strimming RESULT!! I would also like to know where to get stickers for the fuel cans? to stop the wife filling from the wrong can and then she may stop strimming all together:thumbdown:
  15. Air cooled deutz engines are as good as any give them clean oil, fuel and air and they will run for ever. Ford 6600 never had problems with porous blocks?? IH never had problems with porous liners?? I worked for a plant hire company that had deutz engines in compressors and as long as you gave them clean fluids and set the tappets they would run for 12000 hrs +
  16. Don't run 24V bulbs on 12V system as if Stobarts run up your arse and the police investigate you may be held liable. Just fit LED Dual voltage lights. (Its high time they were standard on trailers)
  17. Good on ya!! Top bloke if you pay this forward I hope good things come to you! Good luck in NEPAL.

    Stuck bolt!

Get a big hammer and hit the bolt head square on as hard as you can a couple of times and the bolt should move if not Oxy acetylene. This will not work if it is a nut!!!
  19. Graham you answered your own question "VARIO" is the answer it's the type of transmission ans can save buckets of fuel in the right circumstances. Speak to Ross Agri in Turriff. You will need to do enough of the right kind of work to justify the extra cost of purchase to reap savings from the fuel saved. But they are lovely tractors. The mutts nuts!! really I wish I could afford one but an old John Deere will have to do!!
  20. That's my take on it I'll maybe tell the assessor a little white lie about the amount of insulation that I have installed into the house to get as much RHI payment!! I reckon it's time I get something back from all the taxes played. Don't know what will happen if Scotland gets independence! Callum
  21. 43 for another few weeks
  22. never done on steep slopes but if the trunk is 5 ft in dia I 1/4 or 1/8 the trunk from the end and then take the desired length of clog off. but on a steep slope you may be better to winch it up/down and work on the flat!! 5ft dia is a BIG STICK if it starts to move and your in the way!!
  23. you can also after checking that there is spark put a small amount of petrol in the cylinder and give it a pull. works every year on the old rotavator which gets parked where it finishes until next year!!
  24. If you build one just use it yourself then if you take all or some of your fingers off its your own fault!! if an employee took some fingers off with your home made splitter, get some good legal advice!!
  25. No I just changed the tractor and got a JD 6420s with a 120l/min load sensing pump and a home made splitter and it works well but a bit heavy on the fuel. You will need to decide what size of cylinder you are going to use for your splitter and work out volume of rod and tube ends of cylinder and size PTO pump accordingly with the tractor a little over tick over, also do you want it vertical or horizontal and most important how fast a cycle time, 10 seconds from start to finish is quick enough if you need to pick up the next log etc. in the short term you will think it is slow but once you have been at it for a couple of hours 10 seconds will not be long enough!!
