  1. Nice work Wes. Zero tolerance for damage in a graveyard. Echo what Don says about a friction device. Tree wraps are a pain, a Stein 3001 would put the Joy into your rigging jobs.
  2. Genuine quote? Perhaps but no firm could stay afloat for long on that kind of income. Did you ask her if she asked to see their climbing tickets, insurance and LOLER certificates? If it is a genuine price then that tells you something about the competition....
  3. Eel have to be moray careful in future.
  4. Sounds like the CODWOOD have killed him if he hadn’t sprat it out....
  5. Maybe someone looking out for you after all, MrJ. Glad you were all right!
  6. One of my favourite films of all time. Apparently they scripted 4 different endings before they settled on that one.
  7. Not disagreeing with what you say, advocating bad practice or condoning the butchering of trees. I don’t think there are many tree care firms, even decent “3998” ones that can earn money without starting a saw up, and only doing conservation work. Personally, I will always try and sell the customer a crown thin rather than a reduction and if explained properly it is encouraging to find that more often than not they will take the advice. 8. I’ve used Limelite on a Zigzag and it was good. Not too bouncy and kept it’s shape pretty well. Marlow Venom which was developed for mechanical devices is durable and kept its shape really well but on the downside was really bouncy and not very nice on the hand especially when wet with very poor knot ability. I’m currently on Tachyon which is has a great feel to it.
  9. Slight arthritis in my right knee and right wrist. I’ve had the hydrocortisone injection in my knee and it was great for two days. Circuit training and climbing has been the best help for it oddly enough. It’s when I stop moving tat it starts to creak a bit. Usual silky nicks and irritated eyes from sawdust.
  10. Apparently, in California it’s not really that bad if someone deliberately infects you with HIV.... http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2017/10/09/intentionally-infecting-others-with-hiv-no-longer-a-felony-in-california/?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_term=daily&utm_content=links&utm_campaign=20171009
  11. So you think your getting out?
  12. Some kind of device fitted to the team leaders chainsaw trousers that sends an electrical charge out if the truck hasn’t left the yard by 9:15am. [emoji34]
  13. Maybe for cutting clay for bricks..
  14. That has crushed testicles written all over it. [emoji30]
  15. Wireless charging is already here on phones so why not a backpack type of battery for an electric saw? Remotely powered Bluetooth saws. As long as the EU don’t restrict the wattage on electric saws like they did with vacuum cleaners [emoji849]
  16. Yes, fair play, I missed that,
  17. Wales is a principality. It is also a country.
  18. The much improved power to weight ratio plus the cleaner emissions caught my attention.
  19. Everything on the sequoia is great and everyone who has them speaks really highly of their comfort and functionality (apart from the buckles that is). The bridge is another thing to watch out for on them. Once they start to get frayed the outer cover disintegrates very quickly. I very nearly got one but defaulted back to the TM.
  20. Sounds like KTM are pursuing it. A separate fuel pump that needs its own lubrication system sounds like a lot of tech for a chainsaw. It’s hard to see how the main manufacturers will be able to mass produce this at an affordable price. If the power gains stated are right then considerably lighter and more powerful saws could be on the horizon. Now that is an an exiting prospect. Nano powerheads and big bars! (Or we could just send our saws to you! [emoji849]) [emoji106]
  21. I see a fair few different types of harness doing LOLER work. The plastic buckles on the sequoia let it down imo. It’s surprisingly easy to twist them apart even when they are quite new. The build quality of the buckles is poor compared to the competition although the likelihood of this happening when you’re in the tree is remote.
  22. Yeah me too! I can sharpen well and flip the bar over once I’ve dressed it but anything past the clutch coming off I’m not so keen. Interesting that the guy in the vid wasn’t so optimistic about the future of 2 strokes.
  23. Here you are nath... This guy explains it quite well. [emoji106]
