  1. That's a lot of money, I was expecting 4 grand but 10 !! shame as these bolt on portals will be so much lighter then military axels For my landrover portals are worth is as I use it for off roading and the ground clearance you gain is ideal
  2. We've got one that goes in between the post knocker and power pack or digger just a box worth sliding switch on / off Works well looks like it was made up
  3. The bolt on portals look a lot less work & agg of putting mog or ex military portals under a landrover What the cost of these ? It's something I'd be interested in myself
  4. Be a bit embarrassing turning up to a job in that lol
  5. Insa Turbo special track is best off road tyres about 99% trucks over my 4x4 club use them as your pick up is light ( unless loaded ) these tyres will really help there also ok on the road
  6. The mans emigrateing to Oz his cashing in to fund his new start he says his got bills for all equipment etc there's nothing suspicious about it, his even got chain saw boots on in one the pics My 150 tracked chipper only had 100 hours on it when I got it at 6 years old condition backed that up it Good luck to any buyers Good luck to him
  7. You'd be surprised my old Iveco Daily 5.5 tonner had 180 bhp and would tow tri axle Ifor with 4.5 tonne on it and 4 tonne on truck so apox 12 tonne no problem at all and still march up hills etc Thinking back it would pull off with 4ish tonnes in 2nd gear easy

    Mini Artic

I recon it would be a good set up one tractor unit and a selection of trailers to cover all types of jobs Would be very manoeuvrable as you can jack knife it to back it up drive ways etc Good luck
  9. Can beat that easy, we've been asked to go to Qld Australia !! It's for Family 2 of us are going out there next year probably for a couple of weeks
  10. Wouldn't bother with the ol,bill Buy the saw arrange pick up go round there get your stuff back
  11. Why don't you buy it then arrange to pick it up ?
  12. Surprisingly It dont, it's really good plus they can handle mud, mines a 6 series and can lift half a tonne, the bigger ones can lift a tonne It also can power the log splitter, pushes the chip pile up with ease, handles all the logs Bobcats are really nippy too turn on a sixpence Best machine in my yard
  13. i use a bobcat to move ibc,s n tonne bags off logs about pls it's 4in1 bucket grain bucket and muck grab so quite hand bit of kit Since I got the bobcat I hardly use my forklift
  14. Yes witch is what you want as negative nose waight ( trailer trying to lift the back of towing vehicle off the road ) is what course snaking You don't artic,s having trouble do ya
  15. The American trailers have there wheels set further back unlike ours, this gives a much better tow and cuts out snaking
  16. The ford transit is 145bhp ( not a 90 like most ) the yank is about 250bhp but it's the grunt it's got the yank smokes up both rear tyres with ease

    Overloaded

That wouldn't get far eather the bearings or tyres would over heat and fail miserably
  18. Yup about a tonne ( front half of a defender ) the trucks 145 bhp so also got enuff power to not hold traffic up Most towing accidents involve pick up trucks or 90,s as there too light on the back end
  19. Its the best thing I could get to fit my 5 kids in & to tow an American Caravan, its right hand drive and 5.7 V8 auto
  20. I picked a GMC day van up yesterday and towed it home 350 miles without a problem
  21. I don't think 90,s are any good for towing big trailers there too short better off with 110 towing hight and getting the waight in the bight place is the main thing along with the right speed Local on slow roads you'll get away with most things but on motorways at speed things can get really bad rally quick
  22. This looks a good lock for the money, I'd just weld a box over the padlock area like a container style protection, job done
  23. 24mm socket & spanner will get round all these trailer hitch locks fast and quite but like said these locks will stop opportunist thieves
