  1. Own boss earning 1500 a week sorry mate my formans on a grand a week lol
  2. You don't need a 30k van my one owes me £2500 but earns £60 a shift 1st job out was 9 months hire and it stayed on site for six months without turning a wheel It's money for old rope Think it's bad now it used even better the rains have been pulled in a bit over last few years
  3. I might just add I'm the SPC "site person in charge" also the PWT TH & EH "protecting workers on the track days n nights" and also T002/3 witch is a Track Handback so this little lot nets a Hanson shift rate just on its own and I'm not allowed to work it would get frowned on
  4. Oh dont worry I run my show too, I focus on demestic work but only work afthenoons, having a side line on the rail just gives me masssive employing power so I can keep a full team in full time work with no stress paid on the dot every month Then my own work runs at almost 90% profit as rail takes care of everything, so I'll keep on suffering "money for old rope" plus my guys love the bounce money
  5. That's a Bag on, except on network rail you can work 24/7 on lul it's mainly nights "engineering hours" so no one is about or checks days "traffic hours" On nights we start at 01:00 & finish no later then 04:00 no agg parking no traffic It's a sweet gig I won't say how much I earn but let's just say it's not too shabby
  6. I picked some work up a wile ago "job orders" all little jobs really so started doing 3 a & got told to ease up so I done 2 a day again told to slow down so I'm now on 1 a day, turns out the guys we took over from was doing 1 every 7 to 10 days lol maddness !! I ended up on a 3 day week claiming for 5 lovely bread n butter work
  7. Na turn up late & go home early with a visit to cafe in between onles we're in the middle of no where then we take the welfare van
  8. I also work on the rail, why rush ? "Onless its price work" which is rare these days we're bogged down with train movements h&s meathard statement,s weather etc I'm on LUL as it's even cusher then NR Work I could do in a day takes a week "more money for me as I get day rate for my boys" Iv even been told to slow down by management when I was only doing an hour a day to start with
  9. Iv got both types but they just seem too big and bulky for a 110 tipper conversion so even if original post changed to the Ram Sytle I still doubt it would work as nice it would with one of them smaller rams
  10. Denz, there lovely conversions you've done and afther looking at a couple of old transit tipper body's Iv been "saving" for a conversion Iv realised there useless, like you say pay an extra few quid out and get a proper Ram
  11. I think they just use some silicon flex, I'll cross that bridge when I come to it Looks a nice smart conversion still looks factory, probably going to look in to a new smaller Ram & Pump as the transit ones look a bit big for this style of tipper
  12. I'm about to convert a 110 hcpu to a tipper but I want to keep the landrover body and keep it to the original hight / body lines Iv not started yet but I'm going to thin the tipper body frame down so it sits in between the landrover chassis I think choosing the right tipper gear is important there's a few different types Once I start I'll put a few pics up
  13. Standard procedure on all railway sites both drip tray and spill kit and a fire point and 1st aider & 1st aid kit, all saws on plant reg and tagged in date
  14. Still there tucked away in the corner of the yard, it's ideal for some one starting out Im looking for a grand for it
  15. Sorry mate not on FB Iv sent you a PM
  16. Up for grabs I didn't put this in classifieds as it's a project / spares repairs Iv got an old Vermeer 620 with a rebuilt koler 20hp petrol lump blades just been sharpened, been converted to a twin axle This is a project it needs finishing, it needs lights, mud gaurds jockey wheel it runs n chips this was my old chipper that I kept for back up but I don't need it and it's just sitting there doing nothing So if someone wants a cheep chipper this could be for you ? It's located in hockley Essex SS5 post code PM me if interested
  17. You don't measure them you just cut a spacer
  18. You gotta hand it to the Aussie,s that was probably a days yakka then off down the pub for some stubbies and got paid lol
  19. Iv got a bobcat 641 mainly used with a 4in 1 bucket but has other attachments like pallet forks, muck grab, hole borer, brush etc and stuff comes up all the time cheep on eBay for them, resontly there was a mini digger arm for £800 I was tempted I use mine mainly in the yard to push logs n chip up in a heap then loading trucks etc and also take it out on jobs as and when needed My me it's a super handy bit of kit for not a lot of money turns on sixpence don't need much room to work in and like said there's attachment,s for just about any job avalible cheep
  20. Used to work/standby etc every xmas on LUL back when it was worth it, ant bothered for the last 10 years And probably won't bother again I just pay the lads give them a crimbo bonus and start again in Jan
