    Overloaded

Load of straw not on sure on waight but it felt heavy
  6. That's what I thought, pathetic comment, badger baiting & dog fighting next it'll be cock fighting and hare coarsing All silly jokes aside Iv done a lot worse then moving pigeons on !! Done a grafite removal job last year in a tunnel going under the railway & had to move a tramp on !!
  7. The van would only go along 30 mph roads in 3rd, 4th was labouring witch is crazy Once remapped it would happily go along at 30ish in 5th so this is How it returned more mpg From memory I gained an extra 80 miles to 100 miles per tank
  8. Iv had diesels remapped for better mpg and low down torque seemed to work for me Last one was a few years back it was a Vauxhall sportive Astra van, it was a flying machine to start with & unbelievable once remapped
  9. My mates a bmw specialist runs a good show, he swears by these diesels I can't remember what engine code be said his putting in, Iv dropped him off an R380 gearbox and letting him get on with it He said it's a 3.0 six pot turbo as the next engine up would be over kill think it was 3.5 twin turbo His saying it will be 270 bhp and a loads of torque ideal for low down power for towing
  10. I used to run an Iveco Daily 6.5 tonner it had a 3 tonne legal payload a 2.8 turbo diesel 150 bhp and would pull off easy in 2nd gear loaded, massive train weight Good motor ideal for arb work
  11. I wouldn't take the taillift off it's a handy bit of kit for rings stump grinders etc and doubles up as a padlock for the chipper Also as said I'd freelance for a bit 1st before investing ££££££
  12. You would of thought the bigger the chipper the better the safety systems ???
  13. Seems like agg, just keep it simple tow the chipper behind the tipper, The truck with a chipper bolted to it looks a bit daft too it's a wast of a truck as it's only good for one job now and if eather truck or chipper brake down or need services etc there both out of action I have seen a chipper fixed to the back of lorry think it was about 12 tonner it had a 3 way tipper body and was towing a high sided tipper trailer looked good set up
  14. Seems there's an average of a one death a year involving big chippers in the states and a couple of near misses
  15. Iv just done a site clearance for a property developer and 2 nests was found on site by environmental they "badly" taped of a 10m circle around each nest one in brambles and one in a conifer so we've just worked around it On the rail we work around nesting season to avoid the this On demestic work I'd just relocate the nest and this has been successful so far
  16. It will start coming together in the new few weeks, once I get it back and the rest of the new parts turn up I'll start taking a load of pic,s don't worry
  17. The hi cap,s been dropped off at the paint shop today I should have it back next week Then got to sort out the tipping gear & frame work I want to keep the hi cap body looking standard and also install a rear winch so thinking about removing the diesel tank and fitting one from a 90 as it sits under the drivers seat witch at the moment is wasted space this will free up a lot of space at the back end when I removed the the rear tub today I was shocked how light it was, I can move it about on my own easy I also need to make a new tailgate for the truck man top as the one on there is nackard I'll prob do it steel with better locking system
  18. Transit SC tipper with tool box tail lift and driver 2650 kg empty Post up soon waight of 110 hi cap tipper
  19. Truck, chipper, saws, gear, not cheep when all added up Iv still got all my snap on tools & roll cabs and that's over 100k worth
  20. I run a partner van 550 / 600 miles per tank 5 seater twin side loading doors & tows a TW150 no problem
  21. I love the sound of a 2 stroke motorcross bike screaming tro the gears But The sound of a 1000 of them at the start of the Weston Super Mere beach race is of the ricktor scale
  22. There good motors that punch well above there waight, a firm farmers favourite from years ago, super reliable If it's what you need/want buy it and then spend a few quid on it to bring it back to its former glory This way you've got what you want with the added bonus of knowing the motors as good as new and no mot worries for years to come
  23. You can work up to 1m from the power lines, 9m seems a bit ott, You only need 2.75m clearance from network rail and that's 25000kv
  24. I didn't not go back out of "spite" I didn't go back because I'm busy and booked up and this guy wanted done asap Long story short.... soon as I give him a price he said "way to dear" so I explain why & broke it down for him 4 staff long drag truck chipper saws insurance green wast etc & he softened and I wouldn't say it was dear as the job it's self was a nice n easy He said I'll have a word with the wife & get back to you.... next thing I hear from him I wants me to "pop" round to "just" take the green wast away as the jobs already been done Basically the conifers has just been felled and diced up at the end of garden So I really didn't fancy it tbh but not out of spite
  25. I Spose there there "just in case" they won't turn off insolated cables, but if the cables was knocked down etc there on site to sort it
