  1. If you did not align the head of the bolt correctly on the inside of the crankcase it will not seat correctly and that is probably why you have cracked the case.
  2. This is a entry level saw, the first 253/240 had the .325 chain, the later 236/240 has the 3/8 low profile chain this was done as it was felt the saw did not have the power to warrant a .325 chain, leave it as standard would be my suggestion.
  3. Think i need some new specs was sure he said 2045, oh well another senior moment.
  4. No the 2045 is a semi pro saw and is the Husqvarna 45 all internal parts are the identical.

As Spud says, the K760 has plenty of power and runs a goverened ignition anyway to control wheel speed, you will probably not notice any difference, it is important to set the carb screws correctly L= 1 3/4 H= 1 1/4

    357 xp air leak

There should be no need for instant gasket, hard to see it being the plate, however a new plate will allow you to tighten the screws well as they only screw into plastic. Is there no way that the curly inpulse pipe leaking, or the plastic nipple split.

Dont get upset but is the plastic o ring in the inlet boot? i do not think i have ever had any issues with leakage in this area.

    357 xp air leak

OK, but how does he know this is where the leak is? when i do a pressure/vac test i slacken the carb screws, place a rubber wedge between the carb and inlet boot, re tighten the carb screws.

Just a question, how do you know its leaking?
  10. Dan williams is the instructor at Harpury now, good guy, he was at the APF this year on the Husqvarna demo plot
  11. Came in a bit late on this one but just one suggestion, block muffler causes back pressure and blowing fuel back through the carb.

Why does the 562 spikes not fit the 560 Stubby?
  13. Slow to pick up sounds like its running lean, gaskets between the induction block round the right way? try richening up the H screw ( counter clockwise) on the carb
  14. Hour to change the base plate and fuel tank, you got to be going some.
  15. Tht inlet tube is the same on both 365 and 372.
  16. If the partion in the ruber boot is removed you will send fuel vapour into the top of the transfer ports rather than fresh air, this will increase emissions and possibly fuel consumption.
  17. The ignition timing would be set by the flwheel key, if the key has sheared then yes the timing will be out, you also have port timing so was it the correct cylinder and piston for the saw?
  18. The early 372 did not have the split induction tube, but the later X Torque machine certainly does, as Spud has said it is part of the strato charge system.
  19. Sorry they moved in January to the Waterwells site in Gloucester, 01452729707
  20. Common problem, there is a muffler with an additional bracket to support it. The importer is Engine Plus, they are based in Dursley in Gloucestershire
  21. Not sure what you get for your £80 however it would be more cost effective to strip and replace the gasket, there are special tools to split and re assemble, however it can be done by heating the cases with a small blow torch, you would only need to remove one side to replace the gasket.
  22. No the o ring is a seperate part, no. 503263019
  23. Ok the flywheel side is pretty easy, drift the seal in, it should be slightly below the serface of the crankcase, if too high it will rub on the back of the flywheel, once in replace the flywheel to check there is no contact with the seal, the drive side is a little more taxing, there is a tiny black o ring that goes onto the crank first, the seal is then driffed into the crankcase level with the edge of the crankcase, then carefully push the steel bush onto the crank and through the seal, the bush is what the oil pump gear sits on, the black o ring seals the bush on the crank, it is very easy to forget the o ring as it is very small.
  24. Yes we need to know what model this is to advise.
  25. You could retro fit heated handles, but it would be expensive, generator/flywheel/top handle/rear heater pad/switch kit.
