  3. I love my 6!! Apple all the way!
  4. You must be fairly new to all this mate, that's how it goes. Ebb and flow:)
  5. Get him a six pack of Stella and you will win a bafta.
  6. I had a 660 with 36" bar, I think that would mill 30"
  7. I usually recommend a tree survey, I get my guy in to do them. I only advise on things I'm sure of.
  8. It's only if you charge for the advice I think. Speak to your insurance to be sure.
  9. Trust, 01604 492644 indemnity insurance comes in the cover and no qualification only experience. But you cannot charge for the advice. This is one of the reasons I have stuck with trust for 10 years.
  10. IMO CS 40 means you are qualified to prune trees correctly. Not carry out surveys. You can look at the trees and identify any problem brances, IE rubbing or damaged, inclusions etc, you could look for signs of root heave or if any fungi present. But you do not have credibility as someone with a degree in arb etc. nowadays it's the letters after your name rather than experience that count. My PL insurance has indemnity insurance included and even though I hold no formal qualification in that area if I offered advice on a tree and didn't chafe for doing so I am covered.
  11. Could you not take a look and advise a written tree survey by a consultant? Maybe call a local consultant and explain the situation, he may do you a deal on price and you can tell them you will get a survey done and then do the work needed??
  12. Get on to Jas Wilson in Dalbeattie, they have loads for sale:)
  13. IMO it is a scam! It's not a scam, I have been in the service magic list for years. They send emails with the enquiry, area and type of job. If you want the details you can just pay the £15 or whatever it is and if not you don't. I have never paid but I like to see what is being requested. I have got a few of the jobs on there as the people have then called for a quote. I hope someone does not pay for your information on your fake job as what goes around comes around and somewhere down the line someone will waste your time and money. Put the effort into getting a successful face book page or an informative website etc. send a letter to all local schools, hotels etc it may get you some work:)
  14. You would be best speaking to them first, the sum insured will effect the premium. Always check first and read the small print.
  15. I have all my plant new for old with Trust. It is worth having. When I had an incident it paid out within a couple of weeks for a new machine.
  16. Isn't cis for the construction industry? My accountant said it would not cover a tree surgery company unless working on construction sites??
  17. I found Barbour way too heavy to use at work. Cut and climb now. I have 3:)
  18. Hi Rich, do you wear them over saw pants?
  19. Is it a Timberwolf 150 ?
  20. There is a usb to go pro lead
  21. Hi Tom, I'm in similar situation, I was going to have a lad in zero hours but have been told that this is going to be outlawed soon as unfair to workers. So I'm a bit stumped, other point is how do you go on for providing chainsaw trousers, boots etc as I thought the employee had to have these provided?? Also how about sick pay? The old method of being able to claim back sickness pay has been stopped now and the employer has to cover it. I would be interested to hear your thoughts on the subject. pM if you want as I don't want to de rail thread.
  22. I have been there recently, young lad that is doing a forestry and arb course, 1 year in and no practical experience, no idea on working in the real world. When I was an apprentice mechanic in the 80s if the boss had asked me to work 23 hours a day then I would of as I loved the job. Nowadays it's different, the young uns want everything handed to them on a plate. I'd get rid and find someone who actually wants to learn or don't have a youngster and just use reliable mature people with own kit and who give a monkeys. They may cost more but will save on the agro.
  23. And where do you get them?
  24. Don't fancy them over chainsaw pants, how quick can u put them on? For me the Berhaus deluge are the best as they are cheap and keep you dry.
