  1. Buy cheap buy twice? I buy a pair of airstreams every year, £180 for 45 weeks use = £4 a week, nowt wrong with that.
  2. My new toys
  3. I drilled the 150 this morning and boy what a difference!! It awesome.
  4. BTW, why would you keep the price low for a friend of a friend? It's not a good idea in my opinion. I get people calling up saying I'm a mate of so and so and they said you could sort me out some logs or cut down a tree etc. I go and look and give a fair price take it or leave it. Just because they know someone I do doesn't mean they get a discount! Once again another reason I am becoming a people hater:)
  5. Maybe we should follow suit, thing is if we did people would just slag us off. That's why I'm gonna knock logs on the head when I sell all my stock. I've got about 100 tonne and when it's gone I'm not buying in cord again, I will just use what comes from jobs and that's it.
  6. Exactly, if you offered some people 2 bulk bags of fresh cut poplar for £60 or a bulk bag of under 20% moisture ash, syc and birch for £60 I know round here you would sell out of the crap no problem.
  7. Really? I wouldn't of known that;) where abouts on the exhaust?
  8. Where do you put the hole on the 150?
  9. Me too!! Getting really fed up with the plonkers. Had a guy last week wanted a quote for each tree he wanted out, branch pruned etc. I explained that if I do it that way it's gonna cost more than if I price the job as a whole. He didn't get it. Then they lie and say I will get back to and let you know but never do! I'm fed up with these types so I just put an awkward tax on top.
  10. It doesn't really, I don't have it so far up that it would do that but that's why as when I had it right up it used to make that noise, I could imagine my fingers in it. Ouch!!
  11. No mate, it does blow it under well, may just need to rake it out at times. If I take it out it get the chip well packed in and there is just under 3.8 cube when brimming.
  12. I love my 150 VTR, it's perfect for my set up, it acts like a tow behind it if I need to track into a garden or field I can. The 150 is a good honest chipper if looked after properly.
  13. works ok for me.
  14. That's why I never moved to Arborisk, I called a couple of times and spoke to people but they never got back to me. I be never had a problem with trust. Horses for courses I think.
  15. Same, the hedge trimming and maintainence are a big part of my work, today is hedge reductions tomorrow we can be taking down a big tree. Some jobs it's take the trees or hedge out, grind the stumps and then put a fence up. If you are in to making money then did what you gotta do. I price hedge work the same as tree work and my fencing is priced the same too. If I'm doing a fence I'm bringing toys to the party and its all gotta be paid for.
  16. I always try to move some December work into Jan, in fact that's where I'm booking now, back to work 5th of jan and booked up for 2 weeks after. Have a chat with the customer and see if they can wait.
  17. Trust, speak to Cameron 01604 492644, I have been with them 10 years, paid out when needed. Not much dearer than there competitors but at least the bother to call back and advise on the policy that's best for you.
  18. When I asked my LA about similar work they told me to contact the F/C.
  19. As I said you should contact the F/C, they will come out and take a look and tell you what's what, why risk a fine based on the advice on this thread, which some of it seem incorrect.
  20. Best to contact the F/C they will come and take a look.
  21. Not at all, I treat my tools with respect and look after them. The build quality on the Echo long reach hedge cutters I have is not as good as the stihl long reach cutters. It's like a ford and an Audi!
  22. Bahh, stick yer echo where the sun don't shine:) nice cut but the build quality is crap.
  23. Sorry, mine is the 131.
  24. I have the same, it's great! I have had 3, broke 1 and then bought a second hand one to make into 1 good one, then sold that and bought a brand new one. It's a cracking bit of kit.
  25. I've tried and tried until I'm blue in the face, the customers I have are cool but most people are only bothered about the price, well round my way anyway.
