  1. I bought it from and Echo dealer! It's not well made. It cuts nice no doubt but the build quality is pants. Very flimsy, poorly designed parts like the trigger/grip.
  2. Err, dunno, there just the new version, there is a nice orange guard over the blade instead of the black one. Lol. I just wanted a 30" set so I will sell my 24" on eBay in full working order and they have just been serviced by my local stihl dealer.
  3. Local shoe shop mate. You can get Loake from decent shoe shops. Mine were about £200 I think.
  4. Locke are a quality shoe company, I have a pair of their brogues and they are built to last.
  5. Ok Japanese, what ever it wherever they are from the build quality is pants. They are very flimsy, the on off buttons are a bit poor and so it the trigger. They are not designed for pro use in my opinion.
  6. I'm telling him to sell the saw on eBay if he is not happy with it, nowt to do with me as to how he describes it. I wouldn't sell something that's not right. He is saying the saw isn't as good as the new version.
  7. Not for professional use, I bought a set of the long reach cutters after everyone blew on about how great they are and really they are not well made in the way stihl are. They are typical Chinese build quality. I wouldn't buy another set.
  8. Sounds like you bought a bit of a dog mate, I really wish people who are selling stuff we're just honest and if it's broke then fix it before sale. Hope you have better luck from now on.
  9. Stihl do a single sided 40" cutter.
  10. I've just bought the HS82 RC, it's the new one, 30" blades and it's brilliant.
  11. Why not bang the crap 201 on EBay and some roofer will pay silly money for it, then buy a nice new improved one.
  12. Sounds like a total waste of time
  13. I find this thread and other threads about the moisture content of logs funny, people are getting to anal about bloody wood! We have burnt wood since the start of time and I doubt they had a blinking moisture meter back when cave men were using fire as heat. Get some wood and hold it in your hand, if it's wet then leave it if it's dry then burn it. The whole firewood market is a joke, people brainwashed into thinking softwood is crap. Well your wrong, the Scandinavians burn pretty much only softwood and they happy enough. This is one of the reasons I'm getting out of logs, people are getting way to fussy about what they burn.
  14. Mahonia without doubt:)
  15. Wow, I agree Ian!! I've just spent £1500 on a new combi unit and hedge cutter sand saw etc.
  16. Aspen is like Marmite, you either love it or hate it.
  17. Or maybe people on here sticking up for people? When you post just add a smiley:)
  18. Everyone is going to have their own opinions on this, for me if I get a job passed on and I get it then I do give a "thank you". If someone asks me for a recommendation for a tradesman I will pass on details but I don't expect anything in return.
  19. Get over it mate, logs are a more hassle than they are worth really, I'm getting to the point where I will pack in doing them soon. If they are dry and seasoned they will burn. To many people getting anal about logs. Let them crack on and I'll do my thing!
  20. No. Sounds like he's getting gready.
  21. I've heard a few people have had trouble with getting hold of the dealer, not a good sign.
  22. I just priced up the Vermeer, 16 plus vat!
  23. Bravo that man!!
  24. I used to hire my chipper out but it was not looked after like I would of expected from tree surgeons. I now only hire with an operator, I put a price on to not get the job of chipping other people's crap. The best way to run is to have no worrys, renting your chipper out can be a stupid move.
