    Geodomes

Shame nothing like that EMT stuff the yanks have in uk? The gedome i saw had galvinzed metal tubbing of some kind but maybe they used a hydraulic press? Yeah other option was 32mm mpde black pipe but the boling it in oil bit made me apprehensive is it pretty straight forward? Step-by-step guide to building and erecting a geodesic dome using coppiced poles with plastic end connectors WWW.LOWIMPACT.ORG Info articles on low impact living 22mm is abit thin for the hazel diameters i have Also wanted it easy to erect dismantle so some way of securing the rods in the hubs that is fast. One i saw had poly cord attached to the rod ends but can't rember how that secured them to the hubs.
  6. Shame thoose species don't coppice (apart from yew?) Is the retaining wall drystone or concreted? Drystone are would be better easier to repair if roots are pushing it down. https://www.drystonewalling.wales/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/ClawddConstruction.pdf Many clawdd(also cornish hegde) have mature trees on top and roots push the stones out bit they can be repaired..... So leave could trees alone repair wall as necessary?

    Geodomes

The ID of 27mm suits hazel but the wall thickness is 2.5mm Stainless sounds pricey need about 12 metres Here inn the US they are using the emt stuff but its wall thickness is 1.25mm 3/4+emt+wall+thickness - Recherche Google WWW.GOOGLE.COM Constructing Our Geodesic Dome — ByExample.com WWW.BYEXAMPLE.NET This article offers geodesic dome plans, geodesic dome cover patterns, and a calculator for geodesic dome formulas. Use... Any cheaper stuff with thinner wall around with same ID?
  8. Gives you extra reach saves bending saw feels more balanced, ergonomics etc Can be useful to have that length to cut mutiple stems all together @ base of hazel stools.

  10. Are thesee echo saws on rubber or spring av mounts?
  11. I tried a 12" but didn't like it went back to 15" on a ea4300 whilst coppicing hazel.
  12. Maybe there two approaches? Smaller scale as mostly arb waste logs but they often aren't suitable for processer Or go big volume, large investment in machinary, & buy in loads nice straight cord that can be done with a processer etc. Marketing is important also kiln drying etc

    Geodomes

Have an idea making a geodome for the garden out of some hazel rods Only hassle is working out a way to make the joints. Seen ones made like this: What gauge metal tubing etc so a bench vice squash the ends ? Other option is mdpe pipe? Think 32mm size would suit as internal diameter is 26mm
  14. Looks pretty straight forward. EDIT Always good to have a second saw though incase you get the first one stuck. Or a spare bar and chain 🙂 And wedges would be useful
  15. Why say only hardwood as softwood will burn just fine? Also you may be excluding tha chance of some decent logs from a mixed log a chip & load.
