  1. Do think alternating between 2 chainsaws might be worthwile after using a full tank as whilst crosscutting especially if noodling big rounds across the grain - as this can make chainsaw get very hot. Especially if its hardwoods like oak etc The chain thing sounds unlikely though maybe issue for larger bars as more chain to contract?

Didn't know they existed makita do one in seems Makita UC4051A/1 110V Electric Chainsaw 400mm Bar WWW.FFX.CO.UK Tools, power tools, hand tools, electrical, plumbing supplies, ffx tools, FFX, The Makita UC4051A/1 110V Electric... I have the 240v one and its good.
  3. The link in that tree council pdf is very good as details the other ash diseases along side adb and has good quality pics https://www.observatree.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/15_0043_-One-off-literature-Observatree-Pest-Disease-Field-Guides-Chalara_wip16.pdf Alot of ash trees have canker on the coast That alert a tree map sure its everywhere in all squares just not being reported yet? Some more on non-Hymenoscyphus fraxineus ash dieback plus management.. LETTER: Chalara not curable, but certainly avoidable WWW.FORESTRYJOURNAL.CO.UK "It seems to have become common practice to conflate ash dieback and Chalara ash disease."
  4. Interesting, did they find out what was causing the 1980 ash dieback - says there was a a further study & im guessing they they recovered in the yrs after? ResearchGate WWW.RESEARCHGATE.NET ResearchGate is a network dedicated to science and research. Connect, collaborate and discover scientific publications... So was it drought related? Had both very extreme wet and dry summers recently will be be stressing trees making adb from Chalara worse.....? A chance of some recovery if climate improves?
  5. E10 supposedly does use fuel dependent on engine What Car? magazine recently noted an increase in fuel consumption of 10% in modern cars in a recent test. Honda have suggested running older landscape equipment on E10 fuel may result in engines not meeting strict Euro 5 emissions regulations, although all new models produced will comply with Euro 5 emissions regulations whilst running on E10 fuel. https://www.bali.org.uk/help-and-advice/documents/e10-fuel/e10-fuel.pdf
  6. Think its quite easy to spot once you know the signs all the say 80% plus of ash trees with dead tops weren't around before adb. Ash as a species always looked in very good health generally before adb with near zero dead twigs. Think OP probably is adb but from thoose pics hard to tell.
  7. This looks right? Tecomec Cylinder Assy piston suitable for DO.123-309 New WWW.EBAY.CO.UK Tecomec Cylinder Assy piston suitable for DO.123-309 New.
  8. Just being using mine was working faultless before last time I used it, but now getting a red light (indicating overheating motor) after serveral cuts so have to wait several seconds until goes green again. Tried different batteries Might be knackered somehow?
  9. Strimmed a wasp nest hole in ground, lucky I realized it after first few stings so legged it, but still got stung about 10 times.Stings Swelled up for about 4 days and I felt rotten. They chased after me for about 200 metres big swarm of them. Suprised how far they followed from the nest. Lucky PPE stoped most of them getting me as was covered in them trying to sting me could of being alot worse.
  10. E10 FUEL COMPATIBILITY MAKITAUK.COM During the summer of 2021, the standard (95 octane) petrol grade in Great Britain will become E10. Almost all (95%)... EDIT actually doesn't say a yr for makita.... mentions cars 😊 Motorenbenzin – Wikipedia DE-M-WIKIPEDIA-ORG.TRANSLATE.GOOG Says germanys being E10 since 2010 so think saws generally would be E10 "adapted" for awhile.

How about this idea not saying its right just putting it up as a counter point of view Bullshit Jobs - Wikipedia EN.WIKIPEDIA.ORG
  13. Also would consider the cordless makita or stihl
  14. Agree about the low power thing suiting 12" more for ms171 But a 14" is more useful generally as can cut though more small branches bundled on a saw horse and better reach and less bending down when snedding etc. Another option might be a small cordless saw stihl or makita...
  15. ms171 is still very fisher price but they are ok. ms261 is the smallest pro stihl way over budget. I'd go for 14"
  16. Yeah true, UK supposedly has lower productivity compared to other countries. 😜 Britain’s productivity crisis in eight charts - Business Telegraph WWW.BUSINESSTELEGRAPH.CO.UK Britain’s productivity crisis should be keeping the country’s politicians and civil servants awake at night. This is because...
  17. Must be the 5% whale blubber added to stop the veg oil setting solid 🙂
  18. North wales owner wouldn't be intrested in as has now sold the whole farm, so expect it will change, but thought there must be other similar places around. Try the farming forum?
  19. No farmers who you could pay in free firewood to use there yard etc? Know of one who have gone over to 100% silage done by contractors has multiple big empty sheds all un-used.
  20. Germans with no HGV experience asked to drive lorries amid UK fuel crisis | Supply chain crisis | The Guardian WWW.THEGUARDIAN.COM Mass appeal automatically sent to holders of pre-1999 German licences, which entitle holder to drive trucks When need them to drive the lorries 😏
  21. Know someone who did circus skills used who to lie on a bed of nails and be hit with one of theese style mallets Used in also with this game High striker - Wikipedia EN.WIKIPEDIA.ORG And on traditional wooden tent pegs
  22. Hazel stakes like theese, though whats used probably differs in other parts of country (2inch diamter max) Used a small-ish old sledge hammer (and crowbar) when using stakes like ones above for pea supports in garden with sheep netting Reckon the ideal all wooden mallet would be a handle 80cm long with head about 2kg in weight. Fencing alu maul was too big to be ideal though worked ok also.
  23. Read flywheels might be the future also.

How about big goverment project of mobile modular kit "council" homes. Modern eco insulated ones mass produced and modular design so can be linked together. Goverment save big long term as not paying out so much housing benefit to private landlords. Houses can be moved to where needed. So basically trailer parks 😏
  25. Being several threads about same issue before, seems like a fairly common fault with that helmet.
