  1. All "sport" t shirts aren't equal some cheapo ones are like bin bags. One sport/running one I got for £3 from aldi was terrible, but another is alot better/ more breathable. So cheap ones can be okish or bad, bit of a gamble. After something better for fell running atm or maybe i'll go for a vest...
  2. Cement up the hole keeps the bugs out ? Only joking don't do that.
  3. Isn't it something to do with EU & emissions? EU Regulation (2016/1628)? Yet thoose chinese jobs still burn 20:1?

  7. Have a 20m square of grass I have planted some fritillary bulbs in Whens best to cut it to encourage them to spread? I suppose after they have seeded..... From google: So check seeds heads & cut grass has soon as posibble after then go ripe?
  8. Mobile phones on worksites.
  9. Chicks with dicks?
  10. New battery spec: https://www.stihl.com/STIHL-power-tools-A-great-range/STIHL-Cordless-Power-Systems/PRO-Cordless-Power-System/Accessories-for-cordless-tools/288828-1553/AP-300-S.aspx more Wh same weight 5.5kg is abit of a fatty..... But is 2.1kw same power as a 40cc saw and similar weight? Makita just scrapped the toolness nonsense on there lecky saw only rated 1.1kw though for a the same saw weight, which seems odd as they have the expertise from drills etc.
  11. Many local footpaths are impassible 10ft hight bramble or blackthorn thickets etc You'd need a carry a chainsaw or machette to have a chance of getting through some sections and a thick skin to ignore the farmers abuse/threatening behaviours if you did try. Since there not council bugdet to maintain many just got overgrown & fenced off.
  12. Any pics?
  13. Not noticed any signs of recovery they look alot worse than last yr. I reckon atm 20% healthy no signs 60% minor signs of dieback @ tips of branches 15% half dead. (Whole crown effected, only a very few leaves left on many) 5% dead.
  14. The makita ea4300 is similar quality & spec to a ms241 I think ,though iv'e not owned a ms241. The instructor on my cs32 actually thought it was "better balanced" than the ms241 Also reckoned the fuel caps are a better design. The dolmar version is the PS-420 SC Iv'e used a ms181 and found its a very poor saw in comparison to the ea4300, as its low power means it cuts really slow/ bogs down in any bigger diameter timber.
  15. dollys on sale atm for cheap £234: https://www.fastfix.co.uk/makita-ea4300f38c-43cc-petrol-chainsaw-38cm.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIyoDohsz84gIVjp3tCh1m2QwaEAQYASABEgLr-PD_BwE crazy value.
  16. Boris is a Turk should send him back where he came from.
  17. £10 per hour is ok, but £40 a day why not least pay minimim wage even if he is claiming. (Thats a seperate issue) Wouldn't make a huge difference to overall bill. Don't you feel bad paying someone that? ?
  18. Modern day slavery ?

    Bad vibes?

https://www.makitauk.com/product/bhx2501.html Isn't this very high on the makita ? Husky is alot lower: https://www.husqvarna.com/uk/products/blowers/525bx/967284201/ Though a 4 stroke would be lower vibes?
  20. I reckon alot of it is down to inceasing inequality and maggie thatchers fault. Also the big demand for cocaine & other drugs https://www.theguardian.com/society/2019/jan/30/the-white-stuff-why-britain-cant-get-enough-cocaine Don't reckon its to do with immigrants or race as highest murder rate is amongst "white" scots: https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/958836/highest-murder-rate-UK-scotland-police-division-renfrewshire Common factor is poverty.
  21. I often carry a screw driver in pocket I use to remove ivy from walls & trees trunks etc whilst gardenning. Could be a stab weapon ?
  22. Therea a good FC booklet: https://www.forestresearch.gov.uk/research/winching-operations-in-forestry-tree-takedown-and-vehicle-debogging/
  23. Loads of boys used to take a knife to school Never heard of a "pocket knife" that boys used to carry? Just William wasn't getting all stabby though.
  24. Would seasoning the posts for a few yrs make them last longer than using them green in the ground? (Extra hassle & cost though) Many of of the old upland fence lines in Snowdonia are oak posts (fairly thin & rectangular in shape) some fences going on for miles across mountain tops and probably many decades old atleast All new fencing iv'e seen is softwood and only last about 10yrs
  25. Conifer don't usually recover once its gone that brown/dead?
