  1. Taking "stuff" away in salisbury wonder what they do with everything & people told to wash phones & clothes. What do you reckons going on how should UK respond etc.
  2. I thought the homeowner husky & stihl saws were already made in china. Do all china ebay saws need 25:1 or 40:1 mix, as not seen any listed as 50:1 so they can't or don't bother to make them the quality of engine to be able run @ 50:1?
  3. Loppers & silkysaw & maybe small chainsaw would do for hegde in pic, wouldn't bother with massive bars imo. Find were the base of the trunks are & cut on the side thats grown out widest out from the middle first imo. Cleaning/raking up all the bits is what takes ages, not so much the actually cutting as it creates massive pile of stuff if you cut a load off. Also Cut/strim the grass short along the sides hedge first & consider getting tarp for stuff to fall onto, then you can drag stuff on tarp.
  4. Good advice here: https://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/profile?PID=398 The 3 yrs thing is sensible for dramatic hegde lops so you don't stress the hedge plants too much.
  5. Found this managment plan: https://www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/media-library/documents/environment-and-planning/countryside-management-service-–-places-to-visit/places-to-visit/broxbourne-woods/broxbourne-woods-management-plan.pdf
  6. I think its an ash from looking at the google street view picture, the chunky size & growth pattern of twigs look vey ash like, still pic is not very good though... http://www.mapcode.com/getcoordst.html?mapcode=GBR+ 30.D1W9&Submit=Show
  7. Anglesey, theys have culled the greys to local extinction so there a load of reds: http://www.redsquirrels.info/map-holder/
  8. NZ doesn't have agri subsidies & countryfile is aways banging on about how wonderful it to farm over there is as makes the farmers resourceful etc
  9. Bagder baiting still quite a popular past time & not surprising considering many farmers attitudes to wildlife https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2018/feb/05/huntsman-jailed-for-badger-baiting-in-wales
  10. https://www.bidspotter.co.uk/en-gb/auction-catalogues/witham/catalogue-id-witham10057/lot-b6d2f5b7-6862-42cf-99c1-a89d00e2e9f1 Only 14k milage
  11. Take fence down re-erect after?
  12. Sounds like hippy dip shit but what ever floats your boat zen master.

    Aspen

Ah thanks ok didn't realize motomix was the same stuff, the husky one doesn't seem to be in the UK yet?
  14. Question is, is it worth the goverment investing a few millions in a fleet of snow clearing equiqment for very infrequent weather events to keep all main roads open etc? Yeah for places it snows all the time like Canada etc but I dunno for UK? But if it cost economy billions maybe it is worth it?

    Aspen

Why is there no company in competiton with aspen? Seems they have 100% monopoly on there product type which can't be good for price. Is it just that alkalyte fuel is so niche no one else makes it or something or do they have the patent on it etc?
  16. Would most arb arisings split into beautiful long billets like thoose?
  17. Wind was from a different direction: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-wales-43265912/80-boats-damaged-or-sunk-by-storm-at-holyhead-marina They never usually have problem but wind came from "wrong" way
  18. 200euro a cord? Cord is a US measurement In the UK its sold loose by the hilux back, builder merchant dumpy bag, transit tipper or ivor trailer "measured" load volume.
  19. There was interesting bit about the rise of far right in italy on newsnight, they all seemed very well organized compared to BNP or farage in the UK. Not much respect for democracy if they ever managed to get in power. Smart uniforms also pics of mussolini everywhere. Only would take a some type of dramatic economic downturn event like happended before, & things could get very nasty in the future if you have the wrong surname, religion, or colour of skin. Seems some kind of facism isn't completely an impossible future for many EU countries. Hungary , Poland etc right wing populism on the rise. Seems many would welcome this goose-stepping dystopian future.
  20. I think the native amercains would agree with you they were happier before Columbus turned & up hordes of europeans came & messed up everything for them. However immigration has always happened & probably always will, but funny how white immigrants are ok but not other ones, who don't look like natives. So are poles ok but not syrians or were the catholic irish ok? or how about the protestant scots in northern ireland send them home? Is there a sliding scale, or are only anglo saxon immigrants to OK? (They aren't for some locals here in Wales). Its this kind of thinking is why people are being masscared in Burma atm.
  21. Cities Farming/agriculture Domestication of animals Algebra Astronomy Standing Armies Empires/states Law Codes Wheel Banking/money Decimal numeral system. Bronze & iron smelting. Irrigation Coffee Optics/lenses Universities Hospitals/medicine Sorry got carried away...

    Mowers

Lidl got mowers on sale again & next week polesaws: https://www.lidl.co.uk/en/Non-Food-Offers.htm?articleId=11272 182KW brigs engine ? Must be 1.82kw.
  23. Whats peoples opinions? https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2018/feb/28/britain-national-parks-reclaim-rewild Kind of agree with him. I never understood why so much conservation work involes stopping trees growing on uplands, when upland native woodland is a fairly rare, & a species rich & diverse habitat? Whilst the plagio climax habitat they want to mantain is very common? Even just alowing a few small areas to "rewild" would be nice imo
