  1. Theese look like a lot nicer nice log stores and untreated made from larch douglas fur etc which will last longer than tanalized spruce Small, Large, Log Stores, Wood Storage, Log Shed WWW.EDISTONE.COM Small and Large Log Stores, Custom made Log Shed, Smart Wood Storage Groovy one looks an ugly terrible design and a complete rip off.😬 Shame that marketing gimmicks nowadays seems more important that the quality of the product.
  2. nice kent pattern axe 🙂
  3. DUC256CZ is the 1/4 carving bar version. DUC256Z 3/8 normal. Theres a DUC254CZ carving also more expensive
  4. Spring 2013 United Kingdom cold spell - Wikipedia EN.WIKIPEDIA.ORG This cold spring might of being what did them in. Winters in general have being mild last few decades.
  5. Wonder if it was frost damage that caused then to resprout with multistems like they have being coppiced?
  6. Alot of species to choose from called rosewood so which one for UK climate? French could grow it ( in French Guiana. ) They own more forest area over there that whole of UK forestry.
  7. Infrared window? Infrared window - Wikipedia EN.WIKIPEDIA.ORG Closing window warmer earth... think clouds and co2 can act to close window as different IR spectrum than water vapour.... Feedback: Climate myths: Carbon dioxide isn't the most important greenhouse gas | New Scientist WWW.NEWSCIENTIST.COM Water vapour is the most important contributor to the greenhouse effect but human emissions of CO2 are driving... high & low clouds.... https://www.metlink.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/FAQ7_1.pdf
  8. Tree down yet?
  9. Big euc forest in portugal one downside is they really burn well in forest fires.
  10. I seen some managment with broadleaf some kind contionous cover selective fell scheme where many tubed replanted trees in clearings mostly died as too shaded (planted species lacked enough shade tolerance) and the self seeders did better than tubed trees, also the planted trees had too compete with the felled sycamore that coppiced think its hard to get right? Also the oaks get mildew now.... Maybe thet had the right idea back in medieval times for broadleaf when they just coppiced the lot in coupes but left few standard trees instead of selective fell for mixed broadleaf woodland...
  11. Suppose they will have a JASO FE next? Also how about saws with cats on and if how often should replace if you want there benefit? See the data a 2 stroke cat engine with reg fuel and oil below is similar to the aspen/alkalyte emissions wise? https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/pdf/10.1080/027868290910224
  12. I just got some cheapo scooter synthetic 2 stroke stuff had the best ratings.....not that i fully understand there importance, apart from they relate to being clean burning so lower emissions, and less carbon deposits. API TC+ JASO FD ISO L-EGD How much % harmful emisions from a 2 stroke is the petrol part and how much is the 2 stroke oil as 4 stroke are alot healthier? E.g from makita: So reckon just using full synth oil probably = alot healthier as thats the majority of emissions..... Then you get thoose 2 stroke brands in US they say can be used at 100:1 ratio...
  13. Was hoping genetic engineering programs will be used breed resitant strains of ash elm and SC unsure how realistic that is or wether its just something that needs more funding to happen. They managed to make a blight restitant potato....and wheat resitiance to mildew etc
  14. I think trees look better than barren hills Alot of different feeback loops in climate change.... How Feedback Loops Are Making the Climate Crisis Worse CLIMATEREALITYPROJECT.ORG If you want to understand how our climate will change in the coming decades, you’ve got to understand feedback loops.
  15. How bout stuff like SC coppice (could it be machine harvested?) useful product but don't think its makes much money so they are often neglected? Alot of stuff softwood is used for SC would last better.
  16. Think i read somewhere nitens is only recommeded for south or coastal due to frost tolerance although there probably some alternative euc species better suited to up north? Tempted to try a half dozen to replace some ash that has ADB....just as novelty to observe thoose mutant growth rates
  17. Think it must of been be looks kind of freaky as a single tree
  18. Odd for a single grown tree to have such a thin diameter trunk and narrow butt. Almost looks narrower at the bottom 😏
  19. I reckon euc may make a a good nurse crop and for shelter belts for broadleaf plantings, as often broadleafs seem to suffer on exposed sites you end up loads of stunted "bonsai" like trees etc.
  20. Found euc very high moisture % and slow to season.
  21. Won't the euc coppice also? What age is harvest planned at?
  22. So thats xmas dinner goosed then?
  23. What size Kw motor in msa120 versus the msa220 i wonder? Trying to find as out as big price difference.
