  1. It's worth mentioning that most silicon sealer will damage the backing of a mirror, so 'neutral cure silicone ' is the only type that can be used, I think the way you did it is the right way... you learn by your mistakes🙄
  2. The average laminate isn't plastic free though OK, so what's you're aim then, there must be plenty of man made materials in the van already ? I suppose potentially you could mill thin Yew boards, T&G them and saturate them with setting oil which would waterproof them, but they'd have to be very good boards not to need defects filled with resin. I've done the above process with platters and at least 8 years down the line and with normal dishwashing they are now needing recoated.. just for surface finish . My pet hate is grout so I have for a long time clad any shower I'm working on with 1 piece of vinyl flooring made to measure and glued in place with the only joint being the silicone bead where it meets the shower base and sides. Did it once with 2 one piece Formica sheets which also worked well.
  3. I suppose if you wanted to try to continue a Yew theme you could try lining the shower with waterproof bathroom Yew laminate. It might need extra sealing once set in place buy could look very nice, Yew+waterproof+laminate+flooring - Recherche Google WWW.GOOGLE.COM
  4. I could have used one of these last year when I was wrestling with an awkward fence where the Ryloc netting didn't tension very nicely and I'm not happy looking at every day. I see the a similar tool for sale on ebay for £28, I may have to have it hanging in the shed👍
  5. Liked the camera angle on this one... amongst other things👍
  6. Good tip, just googled it and it would appear to be ceramic grease which I hadn't previously heard of, I'll be getting a tub of this for the workshop, cheers👍 Fuel Injectors Glow Plugs Grease Fits Dodge Volvo Mercedes Benz Febi 26712 WWW.EBAY.CO.UK Fuel Injectors Glow Plugs Grease Fits Dodge Volvo Mercedes Benz Febi 26712 - Fast & Free Delivery from Simply Car Parts...
  7. Just googled Youngsbury estate, you must have a very satisfying job👍
  8. Interesting video that shows how far behind the game our glorious leaders are, they've been waffling about tidal energy all my adult life, probably the only thing wrong with it is that it would work.. As far as rubbish products coming out of China to our shops, the market for crap is only there due to the general stupidity of our LCD numpty population, they do make good stuff but it's just that our society seems to like buying rubbish... it sits very well along beside their IQ. The Chinese have a rover on the far side of the moon as I'm sure you know, so they are a very capable nation just taking advantage of what would seem like our deliberately run down and uncompetitive in any way Great.. my feckin arse Britain.
  9. Not a pro answer, but over the years I've noticed many a tree with bark like that.. very often Beech. I reckon ultimately it's had it👎
  10. Apparently China has 1000 coal fired power stations with another 250 in construction with a new one coming online nearly every week. I've often wondered how many power stations = 1 small volcano in terms of pollution ?
  11. The last ' ice age ' or Pleistocene is believed to have lasted about 2 1/2 million years interspersed with many interglacial warm periods of between 10 and 40 thousand years. Some argue we're in one of these warm periods at the moment and it's only the arrogance of mankind deeming ourselves so important that we must be in a new Epoch which they named the Holocene. It must be 30 years since I heard climate change described as a multi-trillion dollar business opportunity that can not be stopped. 12. If you tried what I suggested you'd solve the problem and if you powered it with one of these you'd be able to vary the fan speed / airflow to whatever speed you wanted at different parts of the process. Cheers. Edit. I not sure if these have a variable speed control, but you'll definitely be able to find one that has. Bench Top Power Supplies WWW.TLC-DIRECT.CO.UK
  13. I think they'll just snap off, at least that's wot happened when I tried a reset.
  14. It's hard enough to make a living without having to worry about thieving bastards all the time, I agree with the solution in your original post, all the best.
  15. Yep, up here we have much rain and I can remember 25 years ago my misses planted a whole wad of Goat Willow and Alder whips wot likes wet, just simply a 3 to 4 foot sprouting stem stuck into the ground with nothing else, takes root 100% of the time and grows almost as fast as fake news... and I've spent countless hours trying to get rid of them and there endless root systems.. The one thing I've learnt in life whilst trying to clear a small piece of ground for growing veggies is that nature will take it back in far less time than it took to tame it, and no sign of you're endless toiling will be visible in no time at all... which in a sense is one of the few positives in this world today👍 I don't mind either as an individual tree, but as a tangled thicket it's war😡
  16. I guessed Willow earlier but I'm crap at Identifying trees from their bark, but regardless of species it's very strange one, cheers.
  17. I'd like the OP to go back and cut down an adjacent tree to see if it had the same weird lines, what species do you think it is ?
  18. Yeah, must have used a nibbler. Family firm's bid to track down thieves who ripped open van like a tin can - CoventryLive WWW.COVENTRYTELEGRAPH.NET Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward
  19. Yep, I like watching there vids as well👍
  20. I was lucky enough to find Matt Cremona online just as he was starting to build the mill.. watched the whole lot with interest. You're friend's got a good set up there as well... so much space and all the toys👍
  21. I just got on with stuff and apart from material shortages and price hikes, I was lucky enough to be largely unaffected. That said, there are countless others whose lives and livelihoods will likely never recover.. not to mention there heath and mental health, and this will ultimately affect all of the rest of us one way or the other.
  22. That's some amount of reading, but great pictures👍
  23. Excellent👍
  24. I switched my 200 to the 3/8" 220 set up which of course meant changing the sprocket, I found a fair few chips in behind it that could potentially feck the oil pump drive so that's another thing that's worth checking from time to time.
  25. Very good, but try putting that on youtube, and you're probably upsetting all the trans folk on here 😁
