  1. Typing with my nose.
  2. Could sell you a hakki pilke eagle for your small stuff:lol:
  3. We had strongest winds that we have had in a few years. Local landmark the Adam &Eve trees are now just the Eve tree.
  4. Most honest, sensible post in the whole thread.
  5. Agreed. Horrible stuff. Can't beat good old OVD

    Ax men!

Watching it Jon. Seems fairly down to earth. Not hammed up for the cameras
  8. Cheers Steve. Won two prizes but the charity is the real winner.
  9. Have set a countdown timer on my phone. Don't want to be square:biggrin:
  10. Got a bottle of Ardmore for Christmas. Opened it tonight while watching the darts. Tastes like parrafin:thumbdown:. Back to the mcallans for me:thumbup1:
  11. Was pulled over last week for traveling with pallet forks on tractor loader. I was on the dual carriage way with the loader down as visibility is better. Always have them up on side roads though. Was told that this was an offence as they could be classed as a stabbing hazard if I hit anything. Police explained that you can run with anything on the front as long as it's blunt or has a guard across tines. Modern vehicles have crumple zones to deal with this. Mentioned that any implements sticking out more than 1 .5 m should have reflector markers on the side. Hope this helps
  12. Lovely morning here. Minus 5 at the moment although did have minus 7 during the night. Flat calm and very dry and crisp
  13. Have mine on 25" and 18" with 8t rim. Great saw. No problems with it and it's coming up for a year old.
  14. Lot of the time Joe Public get put off by the £180 price tag whether it's a good deal or not. £80 sounds a lot more appealing to most people.
  15. Just left a review. Will be ordering some more stuff at start of the year. Many thanks:thumbup1:

    +1
  17. I like his style
  18. Got to keep your shaft greased!!
  19. Oops!!! The pto shaft you gave me disintegrated at the weekend. Bearings were getting worn but thought if I greased it to hell it would last till Christmas when I would have time to replace them. There was metal flying everywhere. Have a few spare shafts so no big deal. Think I'll give the kindling a miss:laugh1:
  20. Had the hakki pilke eagle for about a month now and I love it. So much quicker than using a chainsaw. Have to watch your hands when using the splitter though as can grab and spin the log resulting in bruised knuckles.(I was warned about this but had to see for myself ha ha).Have now started splitting the straight grained stuff at 3 foot long and then sawing it. Very happy with the machine and would buy another if the need ever arose again.
  21. Don't get me wrong I like to haggle with the best of them! What I do object to is the way they ask to make an order then go through the motions of giving address and so on then try and haggle afterwards. If they mention doing a deal at the start I may throw in some kindling depending on delivery distance and so on. I do do discounts for my regulars at Christmas and they know this so order in plenty time. These people were all new customers to me and 3 decided to go elsewhere for prices. Good luck to them.
  22. So far today had 4 folk wanting to order logs. Every blooming one of then asked if I would knock a tenner off cos it's Christmas and they have presents to buy BLAH blah blah. Explain to them that I have 2 small kids and bills to pay and Christmas to pay for they just laugh and say that I must be coining it in. 3 of the 4 said they would call some other suppliers and get back to me. Have barred their numbers from phone. Can't be bothered with attitude like that Am I cutting off my nose to spite my face?
  23. Ha ha ha. So true. I had a rather snooty wifey on the phone this morning asking for a load of washed logs to be delivered on 23rd. When I asked what she meant by washed she said she was having a party and did not want the guests getting dirty hands putting logs on the fire. I told her to leave them out in the rain and she hung up on me. Can't be bothered with folk like that. Know where her house is and its the size of a small town
  24. Suffer from it as well. I carry some of them hand warmer sachet things. Find my left hand suffers worse than the right. Don't do any climbing so not sure if they would work for you. You could just cut a hole in your pockets:laugh1:
