  1. My girls are 3 and 4 and got the same saws and safety stuff for Christmas. They love them and are keen to help daddy at the weekends. However they have got wise to the haribo payment plan. Haribo for the fist 30 mins then cash for the rest. They have a thing for 50p coins. Their piggy banks are full of them. Seeing the look on their faces when I hand them their pennies is priceless to me but hopefully they will grow up knowing the value of working for their money but at the moment they are happy wielding their toy stihls.
  2. My latest addition the big 9010 Dolmar on 30" b&c. 461 on 20" husky 365 on 18" and the 261 on 16".
  3. Ha ha. Will have to cut a few thousand ton of firewood to neutralize the carbon footprint of the saw. I could probably walked to Devon and collected it quicker than that shower of ¢¥#!- took to deliver it.
  4. It's 90cc Jon. Same as your 660:wink:
  5. Well the big dolmar arrived yesterday after 3 weeks of delivery problems. The courier probably did 5000 miles getting it from Andrew up to me. Andrew has been perfect throughout the whole thing with regular updates of courier buffoonery. Anyway fired her up this afternoon and have to say.......it is great. Not as heavy as I was expecting and has loads of power. Not as nimble as a 661 but the perfect saw for cross cutting big stuff. Beats the 461. Happy I bought it and hope Andrew continues to import them and that his business continues to grow.
  6. The tigercat dealers are only 2 minutes from my house. Some rather cool looking bits of kit sitting in their yard some days.
  7. Yeah I have read some of your posts about it. I have a 30" Oregon bar and chain for it just waiting for the saw:001_smile: Andrew has been very helpful so decided to go with the dolmar. Won't be used that much so the extra weight is no big deal. Have a big chunk of beech ready and waiting. P.S saw looks better in red:lol:
  8. Not got it yet Jon but should be here on Monday. The slight delay in delivery has given me the chance to do some weight training so I can lift the beast:lol:
  9. Had a 661 for a week on demo and loved everything about it except the price. Have had a wee shot of a 395 and found it felt vibey. Only cross cutting big wood with no felling involved so ended up buying the 90cc dolmar. A bit of a shot in the dark as it is heavier on paper but has not arrived yet so cannot confirm this but it was way cheaper than the big 2. Did try to buy a second hand 660 but deal fell through. Was going to get it ported.
  10. Cheers Rob. I will order some tomorrow. For all they cost don't think I'll send them back:lol:
  11. I was actually watching season 1 axe men on DVD last night and it is a documentary. Very good watching compared to now. Showed how it is important to sharpen properly and different felling techniques. Not a staged near miss to be seen. Heard that Americans don't like boring factual documentaries. They need them glammed up. Stupid horn honking sound effects on ice road truckers is the worst.
  12. Yeah a skidderoon! I have one and it is good as a log pick but have only used the noose a couple times.
  13. He has photo of it on the chainsaw photo thread somewhere near the start I think.
  14. Possibly the wrong size log for his woodburner:biggrin:
  15. Have a 261 mtronic and it is great for cross cutting and cutting firewood but is not the greatest for snedding softwood. Had a demo of a 550 for a week before I bought the stihl and loved it cutting wind blown Sitka. Better to sned with but the stihl holds its power better in the cut. That being said mate has a non mtronic 261 and it is hopeless. If I had tried it before I would have bought the husky. Local stihl dealer better than the husky one so that played a part.
  16. Have ordered the Dolmar 9010:thumbup: Had a demo of the 661 for a couple of days and it was impressive. Did try to buy a second hand 660 but the deal fell through. Deep down though the dolmar was what I wanted. Simple power:thumbup1:. Might have to buy some dumbbells before I start using it though:lol:
  17. I was also in the same boat and very nearly bought this balfor but bought a second hand eagle instead. It will take 12" diameter no problem. The cone splitter takes some getting used to. If you are cutting straight stuff I have found that cutting it 30inch long then splitting saves on the bruised knuckles. Then cut too log length
  18. Think England will win the grand slam and win the world cup.:scared1:
  19. So does that mean the 9010 is crap? Only reason I'm asking is thinking of buying one and not found many reviews of them.
  20. As a Scotsman I really should no better than to agree with you Stubby but I hope England win:001_huh: I find Wales a bit predictable in the way they play. England might struggle with all the missing players but will benefit from not having Farrell playing. Most overrated player ever.
