  1. Burning pine and willow at the moment. The heat that my stove is creating is unreal. Might throw on an ugly piece of elm now and again to give it some body. My customers seem pretty happy if I convince them that a mixed load is the way to go.
  2. Also run my 461 on 25". Put an 18" on with 8 pin sprocket and it turns bonkers.
  3. Might try making one out of the wife's Citroen:laugh1:
  4. Got to haggle. Being a tight Scot it is in my genes. However you have to realise that the person selling has got to live also. Secret is starting with a number that is low but not low enough to insult them. At end of the day seller won't be losing money if they are they won't be in business long.
  5. I got a price for one a couple of weeks ago. I'm thinking that the riko saw is probably the best one but toying with the idea of the HP Eagle as it is not much more money. Will have to decide when I get back from Holiday!
  6. Way to much choice!!
  7. Some people just ain't wise. Offer it on a forum then sell it to a fellow member then shaft said member. Poor effort. Forum and members deserve better.
  8. Thanks Chris. I was wondering how the production speeds would compare.
  9. Saw bench or hakki pilke eagle? Liking the idea of the eagle but will a rocking saw bench be quicker
  10. Or if you are a tight Scotsman like my me, you just leave it beside the log burner for a few nights and heat it that way. Cheaper than electric.
  11. We have been lucky today. Flat calm at 6:30 this morning. Been windy with showers throughout the day. However it is a bit mental out at the moment. Just been chasing the wheelie bin down a freshly ploughed field.
  12. I have now priced up some machines with the oxdale one being cheapest followed by ryetec, major and finally the balfor one from riko being the dearest. Like the look of it but is it worth the extra £450? Looking to buy within the next couple weeks so any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
  13. The death of my launtop engine
  14. Run my 461 on 25" and a 18" Rob D bar.
  15. Watching Redwood kings. Bunch of tanks making stuff out of giant redwoods. Plenty monster chainsaw (13ft bar on one).
  16. Yeah seen that one and it fails to inspire me
  17. Cheers Jon. I'll give them a shout in the morning.
  18. I have an international 574 but it only has a standard drawbar. I have bought an old 3t trailer for it but would prefer a pickup hitch. Does anyone have one or know where to get one?
  19. Only one word to describe the weather here the last couple days Jon; HELLISH!
  20. Got stove going for first time this season tonight. We had ground frost this morning. Blowing a Gale tonight waiting for the rain to come. Been like summer all week though.
  21. Of course if you want the really eco-friendly version you could get one of these https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kvQVwR8DKU8 No no no. Ha ha
  22. Ha ha ha. This post reminds me of when I joined here. I asked if I should sell my 2 saws and buy 1. Eddy you advised me that you could never have enough saws. Well I now have 6 and it was great advice.
  23. You have made a good choice. I love my one. £750 is a decent price.
  24. Exactly what I was thinking! I'll take 2 if your getting it for that price.
