    Stihl MS460

Run my 461 on a 25" mostly cutting elm and beech. Keep it sharp and its a joy to use. I also have an 18" for it and that turns it into an animal.
  2. What kind did you buy Tom? All my bigger stuff gets split with my splitter. It's just the smaller stuff that takes all the time with the chainsaw.
  3. I am considering buying a pro saw bench as I currently have around 20 ton of birch and Sitka spruce to log up. Most is around 8" diameter and I am fed up cutting it with chainsaw. I have a regular supply of this stuff so am basically asking if it is worth buying one as I already have a tractor and pto splitter. Which one is best as they mostly all look the same but in different colour schemes. Thanks in advance
  4. Well said. It must never be forgotten. Lone candle in our house as well.
  5. Words cannot describe how brave the men and woman that took part were. They must never be forgotten.
  6. Latest response from China. As much as they regret the failure of their engine they are worried that my log splitter was putting untested strain on the motor and this could of caused the malfunction. If my splitter was made to a world standard then they would have helped. WHAT A BLOODY INSULT!!!l
  7. The engine is totally wrecked as a result and have emailed launtop China to let them know about it. Got a response within an hour expressing their disappointment that their product has let me down and promised a further response within 48 hours.
  8. Yup! True what they say; buy cheap, buy twice.
  9. I built a log splitter last summer and decided to buy a launtop 10hp diesel engine to run it. Everything has been fine until today. I was in the middle of splitting some beech when the engine seized solid. I New there was oil in it as I checked before starting. Decided to strip it down as was surprised to find the piston had disintegrated. Any ideas what could of caused this? The engine is completely done as the rod that is attached to piston is cracked as are two of the gears.
  10. As the supervisor for the local authority Im looking to hire a remote controlled flail mower similar to a Rotair speedy cutter as we had a hire of one of these last year. Can anyone recomend any similar machines and where infact i could source one as we are in Aberdeenshire and the opions are pretty limited. PM me if you need more details

  19. It just makes me smile when using it. I guess I'm a simple creature.
  20. I'm with Jon. 461 is a great saw. Using mine mostly on an 18" sugi bar at the moment but handles a 25" no problem.

Chuck it in the skip. There was a thread about these a couple weeks ago.
  22. Ha ha ha. Same thing happened to me. My 2 year old was so happy daddy had bought big cheese. Just been out for a quick go skidderooning and was impressed. Will have a proper go tomorrow. Cheers Rob.
  23. Would love to Jon except we will be in Italy at that time. Looks like everyone has a great time and plenty fun at these things. Not a big fan of Apple's though
  24. It would need to be well after dinner. Reckon I'd need a gallon of cizzer to be able to understand the man.
