  4. Well an update on my 501 which I have had for about a year now. About 8 weeks ago I had to remove the clutch bell to mend the brake band which had popped out of place. The clutch bell is held on by a nut and washer instead of a circlip like still and husky. Put it all back together and obviously didn't tighten the nut enough as when I next used it it fell to bits- my fault completely. I thought no bother I'll order a new nut and washer from local dealer. Dealer said 1 week to get it. Not there after 1 week or two or three, or four I ring the dealer every week he's not too bothered tho. After 6 weeks I ring echo uk who say the nut is in stock and blame the dealer. They suggest a local dealer who say yes can get you one tomorrow. I week later I get a phone call saying it is not in stock and won't be there till the 8 th of august! I WILL NOT BE BUYING ANOTHER ECHO MACHINE AGAIN!! Should have bought a dollar ( sorry shavey!) Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk

  15. Hi all, Now I have done plenty of call outs for other people, but yesterday I got a call to go and clear up and fell the remaining stem of a tree which had failed and was blocking a driveway. It was a property management company I have previously worked for. They Called at 9am, I said I could get there in the afternoon, this was ok and told to get on with it. Forgot to talk about price. Met the tree officer onsite at 2 as it was in a CA he gave me the ok to fell the rest of the tree. Tried calling the property management company but no answer so just got on and did it. It took me 5 hours on my own including taking the logs and chip back to my yard and tipping it. Now the question is this- do I price it by the hour? Say at £50 an hour or charge them what I would have quoted for it had they asked for a price in the first place, I thought it would be half a day for two people when I first saw it, so £350. I don't want to do myself out of pocket or seem too cheap, on the other hand I don't want them to think it's too expensive and call someone else next time Thanks Will Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  16. Organising work is the easy bit, it's trying to organise it round having the kids when your ex will not organise days in advance, or if days are planned in advance changing them last minute. I am dreading the summer holidays. Need to find a decent subby climber maybe then at least my groundy and he can get on with the day Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  17. Saw my first one of the year yesterday. I remember my dad saying 'watch this!' As he would let one bite into his arm! 'They can't fly away so quick when they're biting' He'd say. I do that now and my son hates it! Feel for all of you guys that react to the bites tho, Nasty Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
