  4. Climb as high as you dare and knock the top out. If the groundsman can let it run you shouldn't hardly feel it. Oh dear! It's 12oclock on new year and I'm at home giving advice on arbtalk, what is life come to?[emoji22] Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  5. I don't like my inlaws and they don't like me. Anyway we spent Christmas Day and Boxing Day with them and so onXmas night I got a bit p****d up last thing I remember is talking to her grandad whilst eating brandy soaked pudding. Woke up the morning feeling ok thinking I had a quiet knight but apparently I'd been sick everywhere and got into bed with the MiL. Oh well hopefully won't get asked back again! 6. Can I enter a photo of my entec? Cos it's having a wash tomorrow? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  7. Thanks Kevin, I see what you are saying, I will contact the customer and see if the council have sent a tpo notice since as I'm pretty sure is is the intent of the council to put a tpo on it as they have recently put one on a similar beech next door Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  8. How can they be Incompetent? They deal with sort of thing every day and even I know the difference. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  9. Hmm, best go and put a gob cut in it in the morning then just in case they were thinking of putting a tpo on it. Surely if they don't want it felled and I do it, they will want to try and prosecute me for it? Makes me wonder why they don't just stick a tpo on it. Is it a difficult thing for them to do? Is it worth the risk? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  10. Now I'm really confused, that is meaningless? Why would the council issue it then? Are they just trying it on? If they do not want the tree felled then why don't they just put a tpo on it ? Are they trying to just buy more time? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  11. Why then does the TO want it ticked as a tree in a conservation area and not as a tpo' tree? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  12. So I can't fell it? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk

  14. So after you have given notice then the council have to put on a tpo within the six weeks? Just wondering Because a customer of mine gave the council a 211 to fell a beech tree. The tree officer said no they could not, it would be refused and a tpo would be put on the tree. This was well over 6 weeks ago. I rang the tree officer to check if the tree now had a tpo on it, and if I needed to apply for permission to work on a tpo tree, he said to submit the application form but tick the tree in a conservation area box. This would suggest to me that the tpo has not been made. The 211 has been given and the 6 weeks is well over. Sorry if this does not make sense but I am confused Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  15. Ha ha. Have you not got a tv? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  16. Sorry flattyre I can't help you with that question. But why don't you start a thread documenting rebuilding your 070. I did this with two saws that I rebuilt and got loads of help from members along the way. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  17. Only Managed to get a few good photos today on this beech dismantle. Not me climbing but a young lad who I first worked with when he started as a brash dragged 4 years ago when he was 18. Now a good young subby climber. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  18. When bought my entec ch18 (similar to tw125) it didn't have the black plastic cover on it which makes for easy greasing, also you can stand on the top of the roller box when chipping twisty brush to give the roller more bite Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  19. Just have a fire and then re turf the area after. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  20. Hmm, this thread reminds me, must buy a new bridge for my sequoia harness, all the stitching has come apart and it's getting a bit worn Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  21. Not a problem this year as I have plenty of dry wood Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  22. I burnt a lot of unseasoned wood last year, it's all I had, could not believe the amount of soot when the chimney was swept. But it kept us warm. Burn what you have, and start putting wood aside for next year now Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  23. Yeah that's quite good really Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  24. Looks like I can't even get the picture straight let alone the tree! Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  25. Just seen the picture of the chestnut reduction Steve put on the today's job thread, it's fantastic- but seems to me everybody puts pics of there best one up and maybe not the ones that didn't turn out so great. I wasn't going to post this on the today's job thread but this is the last one I did that I had a picture of. Did it last week. Let's see the last ones you all took a pic of even though you may not be too happy with them. And maybe we can offer each other some constructive criticism (or take the mickey) No cheating now, the last one. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
