  1. Raoul Moat was a tree surgeon if I remember correctly?
  2. Honey Brothers stock a lot of their ‘Notch’ gear, might be worth a phone call?
  3. Try Matt Pearson MPS Services 07517 473661. He is based in Shirley and is a Kohler guru, has loads of broken down parts and all the knowledge.
  4. Yes why so many bearings? Ours has 1140 hours - no bearing change yet, no play either?
  5. I've had my quadchip from new and has done 1027 hours and is on it's original bearings. Never changed anything other than filters and belts! Military greasing schedule mind.
  6. Do the chassis then sell it at a premium to some fresh out of college budding young arborist - you can't possibly fathom getting started in the arb world without a Landy!
  7. Katie at Fox Medics, absolutely brilliant
  8. Kyle at Hallam Tree Services may be able to help you out? 07805035327
  9. Candess do supply Greenmech, I made the mistake of buying a replacement one from GM for over £50 which has candess stamped on the underside. Rang them shortly after to see if they could supply one on its own If it happens again, they said yes and couldn't believe how much GM had charged for one!
  10. Chelford Farm Supplies, Arb shop downstairs
  11. One of my chaps completed and passed the course last week, he doesn't have a rigging ticket. The training centre said this was fine as he has over five years industry experience.
  12. Great idea and surely a brilliant resource for smaller, non Stihl dealing repair shops too?
  13. Really sorry to hear this. I had a similar size loss end of May and am not far from you at all, will keep a look out. Hope you have an easier ride with the insurance company than I did.
  14. Fixed mine with JB weld twice, then took it back to dealer. Husky refused to recognise it as a common problem but fixed it on warranty (as well as numerous other niggles) all the same. Great saw for year one then a liability after that. Now sold!
  15. I got one at the beginning of the year to upgrade our petrol arborist and now run it alongside a quadchip, and I have to say I prefer the 150 now to the point I'm looking at trading the quadchip for a tracked 150. It's not quite as aggressive on the infeed but the build quality is fantastic and has a real solid feel about the whole machine. The flywheel has four blades on which as well and reducing stress/vibration on the machine, creates the most amazing chip! It's really well set out for servicing too, I can see it lasting us a long time. Hope that helps!
  16. Our firm quite often do away trips, after completely messing up the first one I quickly learned to price them high to incorporate all aspects of the job and if you get them, great, and if not who cares! Based in Leicester we do a lot of work in Nottingham and Northampton, as it's often better to spend half an hour on the M1 than it is to sit on the ring road for over an hour to get to the other side of the city....
  17. Think it's either ral5018 or 6018?
  18. They're more Leicester City Blue in the flesh, so look even better!
  19. I run both a quadchip and 150. When we first got the 150 it was way slower than the quad, but on Mac's advice updated the feed roller settings and it was like a new machine - and I get the impression that five years down the line it will be looking in much better condition that the quad. Both are great machines though!
  20. Drop Trigger on here a message, he's the man for this sort of thing!
  21. Kudos on the Cube, I love mine!
  22. My Quadchip 160 was £14,460 plus VAT in August 2013
  23. Hi Will, good stuff - yes there are of course subtle differences in the weight and flexibility, but in direct comparison to other type c trousers they are lighter and the dyneema fabric allows great momenent and flexibility - coined the '6D' stretch technology. I have a tree firm myself and my team who wear the trousers will be working for distributors across the show, as well as myself so please rock up and have a chat and hopefully we can get something sorted for you!
  24. Hi Will, glad to see all the posts before this are positive - I am the midlands sales rep for Arbortec and can answer any questions you may have on the trouser. Are you buying for yourself or a team?
