  1. Thanks guys, much appreciated. I do keep an accurate listing of all our kit and serial numbers, which the police now have - but yes this is at least a good time to start off and get the new gear uploaded too. Very hard to take as a lot of that gear had been renewed/replaced recently and what hadn't did have sentimental value (084 and 357xp). All in all rounded up to around £10/11k, nothing bought by finance just hard work. We will get replaced on insurance, but it arrives to my door like for like as per inventory - obviously good but I would much rather have had the money and put the business though my local dealer network. The little glimmer of hope is that Leicestershire police have recovered a substantial amount of power tools (like warehouse size substantial) and after cataloging everything will be getting in touch.........
  2. Unfortunately after just over a decade of not being hit it was our turn on Friday . Broke into our yard and managed to bust open one vault but had to take the other two complete. No hope of getting anything back but for what it's worth the following items were taken, they had a good haul. Stihl 084 Stihl 660 Husqvarna 395xp with Sugi Hara bar 2 x Husqvarna 560xp both with Sugi Hara bar 2 x Stihl 201T 2 x Stihl 150T 3 x Stihl BG 86 Stihl BR600 2 x Stihl HL100 Stihl KM130R Stihl KM90R Stihl FS240 Husqvarna 357xp Tirfor winch 2 x Stihl BR81 Echo long reach shears Butterfly harness and pulleysaver
  3. Arbortec Breathflex are certainly worth a go - good value, comfort and durability, with class 2 protection an option.
  4. It's the same as the treehog one, which is around the same price and has all the digits and approval you need - and there is an equivalent with rubber footings.
  5. Put your normal three man day rate on and lump the price of an arbor/log trolley on top - happy days!
  6. The shear bars are the other edge that the blades cut against and are located just before the cradle that houses the blades and rotor. Providing you don't have morons feeding the machine with stones and they don't crack, they do last a long time - our old old machine of ten years has only had them replaced once and you can of course flip them over to the other edge. Absolute sod to get to and very expensive all the same, in keeping with most of greenmech's spare parts!
  7. Hi Timbernut, I was, but live in Leicester now. My family all still live in Beccles though and regularly make trips back, always dragging the Mrs with me to look at the Elm! Could never find too much literature on it though, just folklore! It was a real belter before reduction, but I suppose necessary due to the proximity of the houses and unless I am wrong I'm sure there was a bracket at the base?
  8. Really sad news about this one, not far from my mum's house and used to climb to sit in the 'bowl' before the crown break when I was a lad! We were once sat in it and some Arbs rocked up for a bit of a general climb/admire of her; said they were 'tree surgeons' and I thought to myself, a tree-surgeon, like a surgeon to trees? That's not a real thing, pull the other one! Does anyone know anything about where the timber is going? Or if there will be a feature made of the stump?
  9. VAT means progression as a business and is generally a good thing. I have a Greenmech petrol arborist for sale at half that price including VAT and has been a cracking machine for us. It's grown us from sole trader to vat resistered limited company haha
  10. Arbortec Breatheflex - great trouser with plenty of size choice, great price for the product too!
  11. Arbortec. Buy then carry on forward with career.
  12. We are taking down a couple of Pops in Corby next week - any local drop sites available for the wood? Will be clean and in rounds
  13. A day possibly two doing some pretty straightforward clearance work if anyone is interested and has the kit. Call/text 07939224211
  14. The Bandit will without doubt be the better built more powerful machine. HOWEVER we have a C500 and as previously mentioned you can take it through houses, upstairs, downstairs, round corners etc etc and will tackle pretty much any stump anywhere, providing you allow a little more time of course! Highly recommended machine, and can easily be lifted by two guys onto the back on a transit or similar. We win a hell of a lot of stump grinding jobs purely on access it surprises me why more firms don't have them - we're just about to buy a second and holding on incase there's a deal at the APF! Worth fitting the finger teeth, don't really know why you would use the Super Teeth when they are four times as much and take a bit longer to swap.
  15. Another plus on the 81R here, we powered on with hs45s for years and finally upgraded earlier this year, now looking back thinking how so many jobs would have been miles easier and quicker! Not sure about cutting 60mm though, 30-40mm max probably more realistic........depends who has to pay for the upkeep of kit I guess!
  16. Print24, good service and cheap as chips
  17. There's a green waste tip on the A606 towards Leicester, about 10 mins drive from Tollerton, probably a good shout
  18. We have had it on both of ours where the little arm from the throttle to choke has slipped out of place causing this problem, very easy fix and worth a look.......
  19. Wow, I need to move back to East Anglia!
  20. We too have the slightly older version, been grafting for us since 2005 and still going strong! It was our only chipper across two crews until last August when we invested in a Quadchip, so has a slightly easier life now!
  21. Another vote for GM here. Performance issues aside, it's like you're buying into a working relationship as well as the machine with them, they're just as attentive with our 2005 petrol arborist as they are our brand spanking quadchip.
  22. Switched on our machine today and bleeped continuously reading 'Ser', was able to fire it up but now bleeps every time we turn it on. Hour meter is reading 100hrs, we had it serviced at 50 and the next interval I understand is at 250hrs so why the warning? It is also taking a little longer to start when first switched on for the day too; oil levels etc all good and proper. Any help appreciated, thanks in advance.
  23. I too have had a 365 that lasted a long time but unfortunately got pinched last year. Along came a 560 and I can add to the rest of the posts in this thread, it is truly an awesome saw for the money, size and weight - had it a year now and only issue to date is a snapped brake band.
  24. We had this problem when we first got ours, a number of washers to adjust the height of the swinging arm attached to the hyrdaulic motor solved it. Worth checking if the hydraulic pump belt is tight and in good condition, and perhaps also the spline on the motor itself is ok (I hope it is for your sake as they are expensive!)
  25. Feel your pain man, we got hit on the Wednesday, KM100 and 200T (our best one) Will keep our eyes peeled for you.
