  1. Stick a bolt in the hole at 9 o`clock and put a pry bar over the top of the allen key and under the head of the bolt. Bob
  2. Well done Al, does that mean your up for a bit of driving as well? Bob

  4. I have one Mr Quip, its quite rare because it still has all the jetdrives and swim gear on it.The army took most of them off prior to selling them in an attempt to stop hooligans like me getting hold of them. I cant live with the fuel consumption so when time allows I have a big cummins diesel to go in there to replace the Rolls Royce straight eight petrol. There was a company doing this conversion for the army so I need to track one down and copy it, no point in reinventing the wheel. Bob Yes Kevin when it comes in it will be painted blue
  5. Not what they used to be, pay the extra and go Makita. Bought a couple of new angry grinders off ebay for £130 and within ten minutes one has packed up and the other is not smelling good. Contacted the seller and this is his response Hello robert, pjstools sent you a message about your request: "Hello Buyer Firstly you will have to contact Bosch about having the item repaired or replaced. Their customer service helpline phone number is 0344 892 0115. Kind Regards Scott" To reply now, see your request details. If you have not agreed on a solution by 22 Aug, 2016, you can ask us to step in and help. If you and your seller need more time to sort things out, your request will stay open until 12 Sep, 2016. I replied and reminded him that I purchased them from him and that if he does not sort it I will send them both back and demand a refund. What a twonk . Got looking at them and they are made in China

  8. Lunchbreak wage comparisons is the very reason I have to pay them all a flat rate, if they could all keep their traps shut they would get paid their worth, for some it would be less than they are on. Bob
  9. Cant do more than a week and the thing feels like its trying to eat my face. Besides that whats the point when JB ( southeast beardy champion) is around the corner ready to make any face fungus I grow appear wholly inadequate Bob

He also never responded to my offer which was slightly more than he got for it in the auction, my offer was cash and his final auction price will be minus the fees from the bay of thieves.Blokes atwat:) boD
  18. Probably John Go as deep as you can on the sockets Dave and make sure they are well braced . As far as bolsters go I would go a bit heavy duty because of the way they get treated, big gnarly timber is quite often loaded over the top with a telehandler. Some of these sticks can go five tons plus and are normally wrestled on the trailer with the crane one end and the telehanler the other, often one end is on and a bolster dropped in then the other end shunted on.What we do is a very different job to timber hauling where they pull up to a nice clean harvested stack of timber. Bob
  19. Ugly old arb timber can be quite hard on bolsters, the artic trailer has 100x100x6mm bolsters dropping into braced sockets and some of them have got bent. Also the sockets were a bit of a snug fit and with crud getting into the sockets plus a bit of rust they can sometimes be a bit of a challenge to get out. Moving on Mick Dundee is making some up at the moment for the Bedford truck, sockets are fabricated 12mm plate with a drain hole in the bottom and jigged round the poles which are 90x90 x8mm box. To give clearance he tacked 2mm plate to an offcut and built the box round that. Poles should be a lot easier to remove.
  20. Mick I dont think leavings saws and kit in the back of an open truck are an option anymore, sad state of affairs really . Very nice Simon, you must be chuffed with that:thumbup1: Bob
  21. We did it a few years ago, stayed on the coastal roads in the south of France, through the Alps ,the west coast of Italy and returned by going up the east coast , through northern Italy, Austria, Switzerland, northern France and home. We stayed away from as many main roads and tourist attractions as possible, twas a brilliant holiday and I will do the same again sometime. Top tip: drive when the sun goes down Bob
  22. If its leaking from a lip seal just screw a self tapper into it and tug it out with a pair of pliers. Bob
  23. We have had good service out of our L200, its on 300,000 miles now. Its had an engine change but that was due to a rad failure which cooked it. The old boy that drove it used to get good mpg out of it. Cheaper on bits than all the others because of the amount of bits shared with the Shogun.
  24. Will if you want mig,tig and arc why not get a unit along the lines of our Esab that has a seperate power source . From there you can run arc or plug in a mig wire feed unit which is a lot less cumbersome than dragging a complete set about. Some of the wire feed units like the Thermal arc one will run off a mobile arc plant which is handy for on site hard facing.Wire is inside away from the rain and mud Bob
