  1. It really is horrible stuff if you get the sap on you, we had some near us years ago and it looks like big cow parsley which we used to call kek and we made whistles out of the stems but if you got hogweed sap in your mouth it could be very nasty.
  2. My mate reckons I look like Bradley Wiggins. Till I get on a bike
  3. I have a pair of old pliers with a groove cut near the tip on both jaws which works for the compression type clips.
  4. You can apply for interim planning permission on it even though it doesn't belong to you to see if the council will allow it to be developed. A friend of mine recently found a small local plot which he wanted to build on and it went up for auction when the owner realised there was interest in it He thought it would be worth £10,000. He went to the auction with this in mind and it went for £35,000.
  5. I can understand the Rhododendron but how can a tree that has been there 300 years be classed as non native ? The dead patches do detract from the general appearance of the area, was it just an economic based decision, cheaper to kill them than cut them down ?
  6. Are you prepared for the cost of the wood, they can be valuable those Walnut trees.
  7. This is what to say, it's alright because little girls say it I've seen it. Loved the expression of disappointment on your face it's classic but sorry about the camera. [ame] [/ame]
  8. It's all user error I think. The back handle fell off, well it's your fault as you bought the piece of junk and used it.
  9. Work it Kimmie ! Keep it out of the cabbages. If I stood dishing the instructions out to my missus I know where the tiller would be
  10. Electric start, remote control drone mounted so you can fly it from the ground.
  11. I reckon I can see Yorick in there.
  12. It's not just the tank breather blocked ? Does it leak fuel when it's not in use how does the pressure get into the tank ?
  13. I thought the idea of autotune was they set themselves up ? They calibrate themselves to the conditions don't they ?
  14. Leave your chainsaw at home then
  15. I have a Birch tree in the garden and there are always Goldfinches in it at some point during the day. They also like teasels when they are dried out and brown so I encourage a few of those to grow as well.
  16. A friend of mine who I went to school and worked with for many years had prostate cancer and was not early enough with a diagnosis. He died a couple of years ago at 62 as it had spread through his lymphatic system. Good to hear you were caught early and hope you stay clear. I'm the same age and have had bladder cancer operated on twice and was on 6 monthly then annual check up but now down to 2 year intervals as I have been clear for 5 years. Again good luck with your recovery and best wishes for the future.
  17. You do know that's not a real thing don't you ? He went up fully prepared with a chute to get him back down, just didn't come down in exactly the predicted spot. I'd say he achieved 80% of his original objective unscathed so all in a good result. It's looking like thunder out so I'm just going to get my kite ready to fly, what's the feed in tariff nowadays as I see free electricity coming my way.
  18. There's a stop screw on the top of the machine that adjusts to stop the cutter from coming down too far. Mine has a red screw top and locking nut. This video shows it but he doesn't mention adjusting it. You set the chain movement with the hinge piece that stops it moving too far then clamp it so you get all the teeth the same length. [ame] [/ame]
  19. That's the Lidl one same as mine, bright green in colour ? I've been using mine for a while with no problems but don't get greedy or you'll soon have no teeth left. You only need to touch the front edge of the tooth and don't go too deep into the gully.
  20. Turn the screws in till they seat gently, don't wrench them tight. Then try 1.25 full turns out on each as a start Chris. It's not necessarily what they recommend but it's not going to be miles out. Have you definitely got a spark and compression if so try a spoonful of neat fuel straight down the plug hole and heat the plug on a gas ring or blow torch and stick it back in quickly then try a start with no choke.
  21. I asked about metal cage bearings at Spire bearings as I was dubious about plastic and he assured me that the plastic cages are well up to the job if they are looked after and of a good quality to begin with and they retain lubricant better and stay cooler than metal cage. The cage is only there to locate the bearings which are the part that do the work.
  22. I'll get him booked in for a respray
  23. I made a two pin spanner out of an old socket to get the clutch off my 135 and it works fine. I wind the piston to the top and just leave room for the cord and have never had any problems with it trapping in the ports as they should be covered.
  24. Tell us how it goes and we'll all eee with you
  25. blindstickinsect on ebay. I had some carb bits and clutch springs no problem but a few have complained about service and quality. He has a shop called tree and grass spares on eBay but there are others on there like garden hire spares that I use as well it's best to check round and see who has what before you jump in and it still goes awry sometimes
