  1. That's where it would be handy to have a battery to try a tester on. I can't help you but anyone who can would probably appreciate if you listed all the readings you need and how to read them all in one session. Are you looking to use the saw motor to power one of your electric bikes or to cut wood faster ?

There's probably a lot of oil in the crank. Get it running and run it till it is properly warmed up on fresh fuel with the correct oil ratio. Is it low on compression or is it the easy start confusing the issue ? Look on Youtube for tuning a saw videos they are a good source of information and pretty much the same for all makes.
  3. We tried my friend's 039 this afternoon. It's just had new rings and the carb done and it's still horrible. My Husqvarna 135 was leaving it standing. He is really fed up of it and is looking for something about the same capacity but he wants a Stihl.
  4. I blame it on Father Jack myself 😁
  5. Bit of a slow news day or something ? The picture is useless it doesn't say which side of the wall the tree was in the picture or show any evidence of the tree, what variety or how mature it was. It looks like they are just drumming up work for solicitors.
  6. The paint on my old 036 looks cream not grey. Paint the saw with grey primer then lacquer over it.
  7. Kemppi Minarc mig doesn't have pulse but it goes very low on amps, perfect for thing steel and car body work and it will weld up to 5mm from a 13 amp socket and run on an extension lead no problem. It's supposed to be generator friendly as well if you have one big enough but it needs to be about 8kva to do the job properly.
  8. If everybody posted daily reporting that their saw didn't break down today the forum would be very busy though
  9. I'm officially fed up of hearing how the echo chainsaw is going to save the planet and make my sex life better while curing all known illnesses and now know how foolish I was to buy a husqvarna and a Stihl and I am going to go for counseling to help me get over my angst. Please stop rubbing it in and let me keep using them till they break down irreparably even though I have had no problems so far I am unable to use them without a feeling of doom and gloom.
  10. Chainsaw on the end of a pole What are the rakers like on your chain ?
  11. Brace and bit are not hard work but they are slow, probably even slower in wet wood with a spade bit which is what I used with them. I'd rather wait 15 minutes for the rechargeable to top up nowadays. Pick up an old cordless and convert it to run off your car or a jump battery.
  12. I have had a little Kemppi inverter mig for a few years now and it's a brilliant machine. I welded a mower deck the other day and the metal was about 0.6mm thick, it did it no trouble without blowing holes all over the place. The multi function machines are getting more popular now with scratch or lift tig and stick being handy add ons.
  13. I've only used 4043 or 5356 tig wire for aluminium and never anything exotic. 6013 is aviation grade material from what I can see on Google so it's never going to affect me.
  14. Blindstickinsect has a chart on his eBay listings which I find handy.
  15. I've been welding 40+ years and never heard that before, post us a link will you Mig welding you only go uphill on thicker than 5mm in my experience, not very often I weld that thick any more. Tig and mig mild steel wire are 70S-2 or 70S-6 usually or A15 tig wire. Downhill stick causes problems because the slag runs into the weld.
  16. If you say his name three times he is bound by mystic law to appear, a bit like Rumpelstiltskin or Beetlejuice. I think you are just waiting for it to happen and are disappointed he has kept away. More credit to him than you
  17. It looks like the Aarrow Ecoburn, they are quality stoves not cheap. Just close the griddle to burn wood and open it up if you switch to coal or coke.
  18. I set my wife on looking and she keeps ending up in the car park next to a big yellow chipper
  19. Mmmmkay [ame] [/ame]
  20. If you can close the bottom plate you can burn wood on it. The bottom air slide is for burning coal or solid fuel with the bottom plate open so it would appear to be aa multi fuel stove.
  21. How big is he ? You lead the way egg
  22. I took Voltarol for my shoulder and it upset my stomach. The doctor prescribed me Ibuprofen and after a couple of weeks that did the same so I went back to putting up with the pain as the squits is no fun at all.
  23. Wayne and Waynetta name their little girl after you. Spudulika Slob.
  24. I have one badged as LTS or something from ebay as it was the only top handle I could buy not having any tickets (plus it was cheap). Apart from the tickover thing it has been ok but it doesn't get much use so that could be why it doesn't have the other problems.
  25. My theory is a rivet will spread out at the back and seal both sides if a long enough one is is used.
