  1. I'll reserve judgement till I see it cut grass but it looks pretty useless for my 20 foot lawn.
  2. If you pay the willing workers or those with more qualifications more money it should motivate the lower paid to make more effort. If they don't make more effort they are happy to swan along and have no reason to bitch.
  3. I love the smell of Linseed oil, it's nowt like chip oil After I sand I usually wipe down with white spirit before I apply anything, it opens the grain and if there are any rough bits it lifts them so you can find them and sand again before the finish goes on.
  4. I wondered how it had barber chaired about 20 foot up. I couldn't see what they were hoping to achieve with the pull on the rope it was always going to go the way it did and wanted pulling sideways away from the house direction.
  5. I still like my 135. Next door bought one of the McCulloch saws with the easy adjust and it easy unadjusts itself as well.
  6. If the bank is not steeper than the angle of repose and the foundations of the house were properly designed then the trees are just incidental and will have no effect on anything. How long has the house been there.?
  7. So did the auction actually end at the price you bid ? EBay rules says the seller has the right to withdraw their auction item any time up to the last 12 hours. I have done it myself when I received an offer I thought good enough. I have also received messages asking where the item has gone as they were going to bid at the last minute to which I reply "you snooze you lose" in the words of my grandkids.
  8. Knotweed spreads through the rhizomes so you would have to be digging it up to take away to cause any propagation. Taking the wood and chippings will not cause it to spread.
  9. According to the original post there are no costs yet as the seller has refused to sell. He can't blame eBay for the deal going south and they will help him recover any costs if he has paid, they refunded me from eBay funds for an item I paid for when the seller sent me something completely different. I was awarded the full cost including postage and told to dispose or keep the item. How much did you bid on the item and what was it worth ? If you really wanted the item offer to buy it for a reasonable price as you admitted you were hoping to get it for a song. EBay is not an auction, an auction keeps going till bidding stops not at an allotted time.
  10. It would have been more interesting if it was a pig.
  11. A friend of mine bought a Jasic 200 multi process and it welds nicely on mig or arc.
  12. There is no SVA now It's IVA A trailer is something that you pull with another vehicle it doesn't have to carry anything. Caravan or chipper, if it's hooked up to another vehicle it's a trailer.
  13. He certainly had his moneys worth out of that one at the end
  14. Sounds familiar [ame]https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=qp5hxHPlTq8[/ame]
  15. We delivered a bike to Uxbridge a few weeks ago and there was a colony on the feeder in his garden. I would definitely stop feeding if I had that racket to put up with.
  16. Thanks Felix, I think I need a phone camera with a better zoom on it I just pretend I'm looking for Pokemon at the moment but I think they are getting wise (I'm at a funny age, 64)
  17. Is it alright if I video the girl in skimpy shorts and G string as long as I don't make any comment or wolf whistle then ?
  18. Clear your browser cache if you haven't done it lately. Sent from my KFFOWI using Arbtalk mobile app
  19. AA Teccie, is that armchair arborist Teccie Paul ? I'm an armchair firewood collector and I'd use the ladder. I would cut it in small enough pieces to lower to the ground on a rope to save damage.
  20. If they are too short they are the wrong chains. If the gauge you ordered is correct then there should be no variation in length. Did 76 links fit the Oregon bar before, was the chain new or stretched when you fitted the bar ?
  21. If you had an accident and lost a couple of fingers it could end up saying OLD and FAT
  22. What's puzzling me is why your client is paying for work on someone else's property ?
  23. It looks well rusted and wouldn't take much to puncture it. I bet you could poke your finger through it in places.
  24. That's more of a triangle We had squirrel at the Elvaston wood fair. We were out walking and noticed a lot of hedge nuts on the roadside trees this year. Not seen many sloes though.
  25. Where does it say that's an off road truck ? It looks like it has solid tyres and a solid chassis, no suspension travel on it. Ground clearance looks alright under the chassis but the mast is the low point.
