  1. Nice work nice, methodical and chilled out 👍🏻
  2. They are out there just ask Felix 😜 it's just finding decent ones who are willing to work and not sit on their phone all day
  3. Smart truck Al very nice 👍🏻
  4. How about a decent reliable subby that you can call on as and when you need them would save you a lot of money when your doing the smaller jobs then earn you the money on the bigger ones.
  5. The gm 150 isn't great but the quadchip is a different machine completely. I was wary about greenmech and had a demo of the new TW230. The quadchip is on par with it in terms of what it will eat through. It's maybe not quite as fast on the rollers but what you lose in time you can gain with the turn table on the right job.
  6. Greenmech quadchip 160 cracking chipper I've always had TW and this is my first gm so I had my reservations at first. I think it's far superior to the TW 150 and not far off the TW 190. It loves conifer as well even the nasty dogleg bits I send very little now days. 👍🏻
  7. That's who I was thinking if couldn't remember the name though 👍🏻
  8. I think red stag do mewp training although you only need iPaf if they have 38/39 I'm sure there's a place in Chelmsford that do iPaf but can't remember the name
  9. Id of wanted a big sign by my van stating that this wasn't my work wouldn't have wanted people thinking this was my work 😳
  10. Looks like weeping pear to me
  11. You normally have to take the handles off as the bar hooks from that end well on the new ones anyway 👍🏻
  12. Spindle?
  13. Sounds about right mate!! I wonder if it has something to do with the large amount of caravan sites we have in the county as well 😉
  14. I dropped the back wheel of your old landy down a manhole last week hadn't even said hello to the customer and she came out after hearing the cast iron smashing 😆 couldn't really hide that one 😁
  15. I was stupid a few years ago and chipped a palm I took down. First couple of bits I ran through my 150 wrapped round the bearing and I then spent the next few hours pulling it to pieces and unwrapping the flywheel which took some patience. Luckily didn't do the bearing as it had only been replaced a few weeks before. Learnt a hard lesson 😖
  16. I don't normally chase quotes but think I will chase all my quotes for the next month and see how I get on. I think it's a British thing we don't like that awkward conversation with customers and feeling like we're being pushy. I know I dislike sales people that constantly chase you.
  17. I'm sure they could live more frugally but there typically materialistic and won't give up their Moët every evening in order to help their situation! Having grown up in London I couldn't wait to get out and you couldn't pay me to go back now. Give me a small wooden house in a forest and I'd need nothing else except maybe a few saws 😃
  18. Hi all has anyone got a maintenance manual for a tracked Jenson A530 or does one even exist?I've got loads of jobs to do on mine and can't find anything online don't want to keep phoning redwood Arb to get answers. Always had TW so Jensons a bit alien to me 😖
  19. Thanks I have used Derek for things before he's fairly local, top bloke knows his stuff didn't realise he did the no stress unit repairs as well. Mine didn't seem to do anything to the rollers. My rollers were always slower than the newer 150 but Derek said that was better as it put less strain on the flywheel and its down to how the hydraulic system on the enters worked.
  20. Cracking job did the same to my old Entec have regretted selling it ever since great chippers. Out of interest did you repair the no stress yourself or get someone to do it. I need to sort the one on my Jenson and can't bring myself to spend £500 on a new unit 😖
  21. Colchester council have all their tpos online now. I'd look there you'll be forever trying to talk to someone in the office.
  22. An interesting view on teaching and one I fully agree with. I'd rather my kids learnt this way at school rather than the current system in the UK. https://www.facebook.com/londonplay.charity/videos/956499087796724/
  23. I always think rigging looks better from a customers point of view it makes it look like they are getting their monies worth as they wouldn't have the know how to do it can look impressive large lumps being rigged down as their watching.
  24. I love the idea of this but the ocd in me would freak out at not having an organised diary 😃
  25. Bit quiet at the moment about 4 weeks ahead but definitely not as busy as it normally is this time of year
