  1. Nice no nonsense tree work some cracking vids you put out Ben
  2. They haven't even got room to roll over in those graves!
  3. It's definitely on the news channels not been a good year 2016
  4. Great pictures what is interesting is how much has stayed the same the more modern pic is still recognisable as the same place
  5. Yes a long slow drive but got there eventually😄
  6. Had I known this I wouldn't have needed to buy your Landy 😃
  7. My collection 😀 all I need now is some money
  8. Love these early daddy's would look good in
  9. Great video Reg makes even the biggest dismantles we do over here look a bit girlie
  10. I don't know why we're all not back cutting trees with a remote control chainsaw this is the way forward!😜
  11. Well said !
  12. Great video well explained and easy to follow. I'm hoping to get myself a mill soon so will need as much help as I can to get some nice boards
  13. Recently looked at a large reduction job for a customer in my local village. I'd been recommended to her by other people in the village so hoped I'd got the job. I knew that she was getting a couple of other quotes as well so priced the job and waited to hear from her. I had a phonecall and she asked if I could pop round for a chat about the spec on the job. When I arrived we chatted about the job and she said I was the cheapest which I didn't think I would be as I'd put a fair price on the job. She said I was a couple of hundred cheaper than the next person and that if I upped my price by £100 she would get me to do the job! Now I've never had that before a customer wanting to pay more. The job was a good earner on my original price so will earn even better on the new price there nowt queer as folk I guess
  14. I bet there is I'll finish off end of next week at some point when I've been at home for a few days and gone stir crazy
  15. No worries thanks for your help the last few days mate. I know I've got more important things I think I wrote this about 6am this morning after listening to voicemails from the last few days from customers. Lack of sleep and customers who won't listen got to me I'm now off to bed to be woken up every hour by the baby 😃
  16. Nice work if only it was that easy.
  17. Ok I'll stop winging then 😳 just felt like I'm cutting it for the sake of cutting. I know i do this every week carrying out reductions because the customer doesn't like the leaves wants more light etc. this one felt different though. It does need some remedial work which I'm happy to carry out thinning reducing over extended limbs it's more the height reduction I felt was pointless and wouldn't achieve anything.
  18. Think it's lost some due to a lightning strike some years ago
  19. Yeah I can see where I'd reduce it to and keep it looking good it's just me in my head finding it a bit pointless when in reality this tree is only a baby and has a lot more growing to do. I think the climbing part would be the fun bit 😃 just put a couple of days on wouldn't probably exceed the cost of a large mewp
  20. theres a bit more dead in it now and a few thicker sections but this is a few years old now
  21. Yes I'll dig one out its not my pic but one from a redwood website taken a few years ago
  22. Ha ha yes I know your right
  23. Exactly that's what I've told them I just have a horrible feeling that if an application gets rejected which I think it will then they will bypass that option with someone else doing it. I know then that's on their heads but don't want the tree ruined
  24. I know all to often do I come across this situation only the other week was the customer moaning about where they had planted these 150 year old oaks next to their 1970s bungalow, as I get older I seem to dislike people more and more 😖 This house actually predates the tree as it was owned by the army major in the 1850s who planted the tree albeit far to close to the house. I'd still probably remove the house over the tree despite it being a nice place but that's me. I've got to go back and have more of a chat with the customer tomorrow so will try and get my point across more but I know people are right in saying if it does get done I should do it. I'm hoping the tree officer refuses the application if that's the case and I would revert back to my original plans 😉
  25. Oops posted to early they only want 10ft off not 10m. This in my opinion is pointless anyway won't make any difference just produce weak growth that will probably need to be thinned in few years
