  1. Thanks Eggs that’s great let me know if you have any joy with your mate
  2. Unfortunately it has Al the chassis has had it I’ve patched it as much as I can I’m welding onto old repairs now [emoji37] I was going to re chassis it on a galvanised one but got offered an 11 plate for a price I couldn’t turn down. I’m going to strip the old one and put everything on the new one so it will still live on in a roundabout way
  3. Hi Eggs ideally I’d like the whole job done I’ve got a telehandler at the yard I could use but I’d rather just drop it to someone and get them to do it. I can carry on working then I’m manic at the moment with work.
  4. Thanks Martin looking at the number that’s Haverhill area am I right?
  5. Evening all I need to remove my tipping body from my Landrover and put it onto my new one. Does anyone have any suggestions for someone to take it to North Essex or Suffolk. I have tried KMR in Hadleigh and they are too busy at the moment. I fear I may have to get my hands dirty and do it myself [emoji37]

  9. One of the best but more unknown xmas songs great songwriter and comedian
  10. Thanks for the heads up there certainly seems to be a lot going on round this area at the moment. Shame the occupants weren't inside when it was found burnt out!
  11. Boring I know but are the parts ce marked and how would it stand with insurance if you got injured by one of these saws. I like the idea of building and using one but don't want someone else to pick it up and not be insured
  12. Morning all we are currently get low on stock and are looking for more oak saw logs for our mill. Happy to buy by the the artic load only looking for English oak. We are based in East Anglia so the more local the better but happy to look further afield if there's nothing local.
  13. I found putting 30mm wheel spacers on the front and rear helped a little by increasing the footprint on the road. I also have terrafirma shocks and helper springs. I still get body roll but accept that's part of having a Landy.
  14. Landy porn [emoji12]
  15. Nice set up if you ever decide to sell the white one let me know I'd love a matching pair of Landy brothers [emoji12]
  16. Thanks Al she certainly is earning her keep. I've got her near enough mechanically where I want her just need to sort the body work next year. I may if Finances allow put her on a galvanised chassis and put a manual gearbox back in at the same time.
  17. Spot on there's no point being the richest man in the graveyard
  18. I also run a sawmill with a business partner who is a timber framer. Every year we have the same conversation, he tells me he is putting his rates up and asks if I am. Every year I give the same answer if I put my rates up I wouldn't win jobs! The problem with this business is that we are seen by the public as glorified gardeners and no one has any idea we have so many qualifications. I try to charge the correct rate on jobs and am often told I'm too expensive but that's what it costs me to do a job. There are too many cheap unqualified people masquerading as tree surgeons to ever be able to charge a fair rate on works. Another friend of mine is an electrician. He and the other other electricians in the area talk and keep their prices similar to each other so they keep the prices high rather than racing to the bottom as the arb world does.
  19. His name was Tim Atkins I think he was based in Cambridgeshire. If no joy try Ben Hayford tree Services in Stowmarket he's done some great pieces recently
  20. I just had to do a double take at your white landy it's obviously registered at the same time as mine as it's one number older
  21. Good idea might be a bit tight on our small machines in the U.K. The size of that flywheel you can see why the yanks lose so many tree workers through chippers a year!
  22. I have the stein one and it's perfectly adequate for grinding. It's not the strongest but it's relatively light folds up and stops windows getting broken so that's good in my book
  23. Give predator a call they do have 2nd hand machines as well may be worth the phonecall
  24. Not old enough to climb yet but loves a chainsaw. He is also quickly learning the joys of landrover ownership [emoji2]
  25. Birch airfield just outside Colchester take chip and green waste http://birchcomposting.com/
