  1. I always give the customer an explanation and options as it often depends on what they’re going to do with the site of the stump
  2. Now that is great, solid, advice! Nice patch KJ[emoji106]
  3. Think you need to do it on a mill with a wide band as narrow bands deviate too much, a good friend of mine had about 4000 pilings 20 years ago, all sorts of species but mostly tropic hardwoods, it was a steep learning curve! Good luck with them.
  4. Clark Forest bio chain oil is similar colour to that, like others have said it won’t have caused leak!
  5. Have you tried a husky technical, similar price to the petzl and better suited for ground based work, also the pfanner protos but much dearer but I believe it has a much longer ‘life’. I have both and rate them both highly except husky visor is easily damaged. Can’t help anymore than that as my head is at the opposite end of the scale to yours[emoji849]
  6. I’m sure I saw a report on Anglia News a while back that Betty had succumbed to ADB or was at least declining quite rapidly, I’m about 10 miles from Ashwellthorpe, where Betty is/was and dieback was first ‘discovered’ in U.K.
  7. Gold crest crashed into my daughters window, luckily only stunned and went on its way after 20 mins
  8. Hi Mike, sorry only just saw your post, I’m in Norfolk
  9. You on crack? It’s superb firewood!
  10. Appears t be big brother to mine[emoji106]
  11. Maybe because they know the Chinese state is lying about the numbers?
  12. I feckin love that machine! Looking forward to more vids of your gear at work[emoji106]
  13. I’ve found them on tree trunks b4, usually well b4 glowing times, they have a tendency to favour dry paths/paving at that time... a fallen trunk would b similar? There’s a thread on here somewhere about glow worms and one of the posters was/is involved with surveying them (if it’s of interest)[emoji106]
  14. I’ve found them recently, but only one or two in close proximity, didn’t know what they were so looked them up, seems they are native, are/can they be a problem?
  15. Skunk’s expensive Bob, you can’t expect a lad to spend his hard earned on things like lunch and transport!
  16. I shouldn’t worry too much if I were you, I gave Trigger my address a long time ago and he’s not robbed or murdered me yet!
  17. Sorry that was Delrin Fluffer
  18. More like 70s porn star, sure he stood in for Ron Jeremy
  19. Looks good but I’m thinking more a giant version of the palax combi mobile! Thanks anyway
  20. Hi peeps, I’m currently looking to upgrade my processor, I’ve been running a palax combi mobile from new (1999), it’s been a great machine but is suffering from fatigue! It’s done about 150t a year most years and up to 250t on a couple of cold ones plus a few hundred t for my charcoal kilns and some contract processing. So I’m now looking at a palax 100s and would like to know how users rate them, we’re doing a lot more larger (15”) cord now and it’s a ball ache ringing it up before dropping in splitter, what are they like on crooked cord as the only vids I’ve seen are of gun barrel straight birch etc. I’d also like to make it mobile and I have a good base trailer for it (big American thing), I’m not worried about weight (100s about1.7t) as have the means to move it about. I would also like to know what would be a good size engine to run it off (500rpm for the hydraulics) on a 3 belt set up and wish to avoid big log deck but maybe fit a log lift like the mobile mills have. You might think I’m barking but I’d like it to be as versatile/mobile as possible without forking out on another tractor (I’m upgrading to bigger chipper as well) Thanks in advance John
  21. Someone may have answered but looks like glow worm to me, though some beetle larva look similar
