  1. Hope you got good price for it, people keep telling me they're getting more valuable by the month but prices don't seem to have changed hugely in the last couple of years. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  2. Haironyerchest do you know what the mix is, I just used some left over from stump treatment (10%?), sprayed immediately after cutting. My son has just reminded me that there was another patch at other entrance but after cutting and regular foot/vehicle passage it just gave up. Probably helped by nettle cover as well like Alec said. Thanks for tips Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  3. I have a small area of JK at one of the entrance rides to my wood, it's in amongst a load of old soil/rubble that was dumped there way before we owned the wood and has only spread about 5m in the 13 or so yrs we've been here (and I left it cos blackcaps best in it every year) It's now an issue as I'm selling a block of woodland adjacent to it and auctioneer has brought it up. I've sprayed off the JK that's spread with glyphosate but just been told it's not effective (the 'infected' rubble area is being dragged onto adjacent concrete pad and torched with a load of straw and diesel) Any suggestions for a more effective chemical treatment Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  4. Meant Friday morn! Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  5. Was flat out doing logs 3 days this week 30 cube from arb waste on estate I work for then 10.5 cube for own customers on Thursday. Mostly ash oak syc but had to move processor to another stack on Thursday as the London plane was like iron and processor wouldn't split anything but the smallest diameter material over 10" long (15t pressure) and all the orders were for 18" which normally only take about 20 mins per cube. Had to get done as hernia op from morn and now laid up watching narcos and tryin not to panic about not working for s few weeks☹️ Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  6. I had a zing it line lasted about 4yrs (used 2 or 3 times a week) and was great but eventually was more trouble than it was worth. Now got some thick blueish line that's fuckin hopeless as it won't allow a 26oz throw line to drop from more than 30' cos of friction, so I'm ordering new zing it Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk

  11. I had a serious run in with some hornets a couple of yrs ago, six stings and a 12' leap off the cord stack, not nice. Think I posted pics of nest on another hornet thread on here. Came back from a long w/end a month or so ago and the horn (as my granddaughter calls em) had taken up residence inside shed door so I had to eradicate (genuinely sadly as I quite like em) within another week there was another nest: Now also eradicated : When I squirted the wasp powder in there was an angry roar like a miniature v8 firing up and they all came out in even succession like fighters taking off from an aircraft carrier and fell about 30' away all within a yard or so of each other🙁

  17. Professional gardening IS hard work! My dad is a keen gardener and I learnt at an early age to disappear when there was bastard trenching and heavy weeding to be done. Different fitness for different jobs, I can fell trees and hump wood about all day every day in the woods week after week but more than a week of continuos climbing work and I start to feel proper fooked. Had a very fit friend (squash, marathons weights etc) come n help us for a couple of days just dragging brash and burning up, he was done in by 3 and couldn't believe we did it all day every day (we were takin it easy as well!). Why so harsh on the American? He's only talking about being prepared not bragging about being a hero. The US is a place with a vast area of remote places and you need to be prepared Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
