  1. Yeah I've seen white English men with chin tattoo designs reserved for Maori princesses, major cultural insult!
  2. Yep I like that set up, presume you could have a trailer on and process into it? Hand cutting Corsican pine at the moment and easy to get tonnage up on the bigger stems (25cm+) but when you hit a patch of dense sub 20cm it's really tedious. I like the little allstors but that wee processor looked pointless.
  3. Call that a hedge? This is a hedge! (in Paul Hogan style) Seriously though surely it's the regular cutting/trimming that defines it as hedge or not?
  4. Id be a hypocrite too: In fact it's almost a prerequisite 😀 Good friend who subs for me has had all the old **** he had blacked out and hands covered , looks effective, customers are more interested than shocked. Had one tell me I looked like beckham, I told him he was lucky I didn't charge him double😀 It's much more socially acceptable now though facial tattoos are still fairly taboo and most people who have a lot of em (facial ones) are either a bit mental or end up mental! Another guy who worked for me had dreads n big ring thru his septum and that used to get a lot more odd looks. Both good honest skilled workers
  5. Lacewood
  6. Barbecued pigeon, yum, back on track! Sorry for derail😃
  7. They've been big for a long time, when I first burned 18 or so yrs ago they wer importing huge amounts from abroad, they bought coppice cord we cut from Norfolk wildlife trust etc sent it to Colin to charcoal for the easy light trays as most of the imported stuff was to dense for them, I think he had about 7 9' double ring kilns and a few 7' singles ( I bought 2 of em off him). Did own stuff as well great work ethic! I remember big k burned down a few years ago?
  8. I ask this question about a year ago and got no answer, but I can now tell you it's a great firewood, lasts longer than syc more like Norway maple
  9. Ernie I meant😳 bloody predictive txt!
  10. He's the chap I mentioned in yor ermine James thread
  11. Pinkfoot, d'ya know Colin who used to make a lot o charcoal for big k near Whittington? Think he just does his own now
  12. I know it was used for veg crates cos it bruises rather than splinters still used for cheese boxes
  13. Corn flies? Aren't they thunder flies or properly: thrips, annoying when your sweating but harmless
  14. In my mind I was thinking it was a lot taller but I haven't seen any for a while (and I was puttin a leash on my ability to exaggerate for effect from time to time😀) We were always well covered when handling in spite of generally sweltering weather
  15. What height has it got to! I'm sure the ones we cut were up to 10' high and the umbrels were about 2' diameter when fully open I an see why some travelling collector brought them here
  16. It is an impressive plant, one of my older sisters got blisters on her eye from using a bit as a telescope! Think it happened a lot in the 60s. We used to manage some water meadows for wild flowers for an ancient lady in Suffolk and she hated us cutting it down (with a pole saw 😀) and we used to bury it in a large 'habitat pile'
  17. Think it's the vitamin b, real ale is another rich resource of it😀
  18. Yea got bitten lots by em for the first time this year today but no reaction ( lots o nettle stings n all ) These are the real sneaky feckers: They deliberately discombobulate you n you don't usually notice em til the damage is done!
  19. They are renowned for engine blowin up anywhere from 80k, a good friends went at 105k and digger man I use had a nice lookin one at 180k on the clock and when I said that's good my mates went pop at just over a100 he said oh it's on its 3rd lump!
  20. Would poplar also be ideal for your baskets? A lot of veg boxes are made of it (or were)
  21. Great job, still can't decide on clout scheme for mine☹️
  22. Love the skull n axes and the Punisher ear defenders, but don't the paint affect the integrity of the helmet?
  23. When I adjusted it the conveyer moves further in one stroke of the ram, the kindling doesn't seem to pile up so quick, but it could just be me! I find putting the bags over the end of the chute a right faff though and seems to be main cause of backing up
  24. Are they stainless door hinges or just new ones mr git, if so how much were they? Truck looks awesome by the way
  25. Possibly, if the money was right, only found out a week or so ago that green mech used to be turner.
