  1. I did the same. You have to be connected to wifi to download the almost 900 (I believe) mushrooms. Try opening the app when you have a wifi connection
  2. Nice to see you again. Thank you for putting the effort into the name tags and raffle.
  3. I saw a few lads by time I realised I knew them they disappeared into the maze of big kit.
  4. Nice to visit the APF today. I was planning on getting a new silky but ended up getting the kids ice creams. I asked for 5 99s and he robbed me lol Caught up with the Kingswood staff, Charlie and the Easy lift guy (thanks for the badge) A good look around the traditional craft area has made me more determined to get a pole lathe and shave horse sorted. Ps stop chipping leylandii. I saw this chair made from it and it gave me ideas
  5. Love your nut cracker
  6. The E doesn't go up classes, but if you didn't have it and did C+E it would filter down is what I got told when I did my B+e.
  7. Taking the family out on Saturday. See who get bored first lol. I'm making a beeline for the hog roast (fingers crossed) then the traditional craft area. That and a few laps of the show.
  8. My friend does it, he can do 10-15 bulk bags on a steady day. I think he charges about £150-£200 so it's about 2 bags value for him and 8-13 bags for the person to sell/use
  9. I'm looking for some work next week, as the company I'm subbing to at the moment is set for nights, and I can't do it due to being a retained firefighter contracted to nights.
  10. I'm a climber with B+E licence, rigging, stump grinder tickets plus some others see below. I have experience in domestic, commercial and rail. Based near Conkers so ideally looking around Swadlincote, Burton, Derby, Nuneaton, Tamworth, Lichfield, east side of Stoke and west side of Leicester and anywhere between. Send a message to me on here or Contact 07976005011. I don't use my phone outside of breaks so a text may be best. I've been doing chainsaw, mowing and hedge work for a local property company since 1998ish. I got my tickets in 2013 when I left the Royal Navy so I had accredited training for insurance purposes. I have climbing kit, a stihl 193t with 12" bar and a husky 560. I turn up with food, tea and water so I won't be stopping at a shop on the way to site. Below are my tickets Clean B+E driving licence held for 14 yrs (9yrs towing experience) First aid, CSCS (CS30 & CS31) Level 2 Award in Cross-cutting, Maintenance & Felling Trees up to 380mm (CS38) Level 2 Award in Accessing a Tree Using a Rope & Harness & Level 3 Award in Aerial Tree Rescue Operations (CS39) Level 3 Award in Aerial Cutting of Trees Using Free Fall Techniques (CS41) level 3 award in ariel tree rigging (CS48) level 2 award in using a powered pole pruner IPAF MEWP operator Lantra - Use of brush cutter Lantra - Use of woodchipper Lantra - Use of stumpgrinder Lantra - Tree ID & timber characteristics Lantra - Tree diseases and inspections, Lantra - Pruning techniques NVQ 3 Business studies for tree surgeons Thanks for your interest.
  11. Did mine with http://www.positivesafetytraining.co.uk/ Relaxed yet professional and informative approach, helped take in the info.
  12. On a 3 knot system you use the same size rope as a friction hitch (with the blakes hitch)
  13. The left axe handle would look amazing with a Damascus steel head
  14. I have a 12" on my 193t, it's nicely balanced. If your good with your cuts you can do double plus abit of your bar. Or swap to a big saw, you're gonna have to anyway
  15. Who can lend me a horse? I'm up for it.
  16. I asked a month and half ago, probably a bit early. How about now? 4 weeks until I'm in Anglesey. I'm looking for 1 or 2 days both weeks (8-11 & 15-18) Can anyone use me or know of someone who could do with a hand? My mobile is 07976005011. Probably best to drop a text as I leave my phone in the truck when at work.
  17. Could you not have a talk with parents to sign a field to you so at least you keep some space As for diggers I have been looking at a k003-3 as a micro digger or kx36-3 with cabin as a 1.5. Or if I upgrade to a 3.5t tow vehicle I'd have a cabin kx61-3 it comes in a just under 3.5t with trailer.
  18. My mum collects medals from WW1 and try's to reunite groups that were split by grandkids etc. She visits the war graves annually so it's quite close to our hearts. She has medals to Thomas Agar-Robartes of Lanydrock house in Cornwall. They're currently on extended loan to the house as part of their centenary display. That brings me to another loss of the war, the large houses. The younger generation died in the war so the the lords had no one to pass on the estate, also there wasn't the people required to be 'in service' as footmen etc. The country lost many fine houses and associated history in the following years.
  19. My bank account
  20. Did mine with these. They were friendly and relaxed yet professional and informative http://www.positivesafetytraining.co.uk
  21. Good afternoon. I've booked my holiday to Anglesey for 2 weeks in August. 8-18 It's my first holiday as self employed and was wondering if anyone could make use of me for a day or two? It would help cushion the financial void once I got home. Im asking now to know whether or not to take climbing kit and saws. Clean B+E driving licence. First aid, CSCS (CS30 & CS31) Level 2 Award in Cross-cutting, Maintenance & Felling Trees up to 380mm (CS38) Level 2 Award in Accessing a Tree Using a Rope & Harness & Level 3 Award in Aerial Tree Rescue Operations (CS39) Level 3 Award in Aerial Cutting of Trees Using Free Fall Techniques (CS41) level 3 award in ariel tree rigging (CS48) level 2 award in using a powered pole pruner IPAF MEWP operator Lantra - Use of brush cutter Lantra - Use of woodchipper Lantra - Use of stumpgrinder Lantra - Tree ID & timber characteristics Lantra - Tree diseases and inspections, Lantra - Pruning techniques NVQ 3 Business studies for tree surgeons
  22. Can't comment on that brand but I've used a walk behind flail and it surprised me. Even with its blunt flails.
  23. If you get a stihl 211 rear handle it has the same engine size as a 201t but it half the price. A few bonuses are, 1)At least half the price of a 201t. (That's your chainsaw trousers and or boots payed for lol) 2) You can use it on the ground, saves buying a second saw straight away. 3) Having a rear handle in the tree will encourage you to get a proper work position 4) I think clogging down a pole is easier with a rear handle. Whole heartedly second that recommendation.
  24. I always MEWP with my 45m climbing line. I'm going outta there if I get stuck. The instructor didn't like that suggestion lol
  25. I'd put a wooden duck board down, as standing on concrete is not great for the feet and legs. Something like this.
