  1. I don't like the seating position of the Nissan cab star, I do like the Mitsubishi canter. I've heard good things about the Isuzu. If I was getting one, I'd look for a Mitsubishi. I believe the flat fronts look more professional and have a good turning circle, but are more expensive than normal vans to repair. Trouble is with my budget those on eBay are battered old builders trucks
  2. Haha. I was going to mention that, but it said hit with saw. I did have an internal giggle when I heard a flurry of profanities and turn around as the 'debris' is settling around an ex gaffer
  3. Got bored, made a handle. Made it out of Iroko which used to be a pilot ladder from an old ship
  4. I got these when I smashed mine. They look good compared to originals on a mates truck when they're parked next to each other. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171706855148

  6. Can't remember what the thread was call to put this in, but it show how a tree heals after being cut.
  7. I'm retained, the time we've had issue with a tree we had to wait for council highways team or hack with a blunt bow saw or axe In the current climate with cut backs 'they' wont pay for the equipment and PPE on trucks. I've said a few times an battery saw and some chaps should be good to go
  8. CORNWALL Good afternoon, ladies and gents I will be visiting Cornwall for 2 weeks from April 10th. I will be staying near Looe and I am available for a few days, preferably keeping travel to within an hour, so imagine an arc from St Austell, to Wadebridge, Camelford, Launceston, Tavistock and ending in Plymouth. (See pic) I'm a self employed climber with B+E licence, rigging, stump grinder tickets plus some others (see below) I have experience in domestic, commercial and rail. Send a message to me on here or contact 07976005011. I don't use my phone outside of breaks so a text may be best so I can call back once free. I've been doing chainsaw, mowing and hedge work for a local property company since 1998ish. I got my tickets in 2013 when I left the Royal Navy so I had accredited training for insurance purposes. I have lolered climbing kit, a Stihl 193t with 12" bar and a husky 560 wearing an 18" bar. I turn up with fuel, food, tea and water so I won't need to stop at a shop on the way to site. 9. That's understandable, however the chances of drawing numbers in numerical order is also improbable. Anyway off to buy more lol
  10. When I did a business plan as part of resettlement, mine came in at £100 a day. Now I've been doing it a while and know all the little extras, your £108 seems reasonable
  11. It's turned up, and post shave I'm baby smooth
  12. Haha. Not if I keep my loosing streak first. My new plan is buy a couple every couple of days to spread my numbers.
  13. I have a 18" bar on a 560. I use a Stihl 181 with a 14" the majority of the time unless logging. Husky 560 = 5.7kg Stihl 181 = 4.3kg It doesn't sound much but it makes a difference.
  14. If she's in no rush it's £50 for a on the way home job if you finish early on another local job.
  15. If you have a pickup use the tailgate and put nose in the corner. Maybe keep a bit of mat or old glove to protect the paintwork if it means anything to you. (Random truck off eBay lol)
  16. If you can organise a rec climb with some climbers you will have the time to talk and watch and possibly try different climbing systems. Otherwise at work do your best to watch and ask. Watch every climber, even bad ones (so you know, what, not to do) Think about what you'd do, see if you can anticipate there next move. Only use the good bits you watch.
  17. I sit cross legged. Handle shoved under my bum, body of the saw sits on my calf. My thigh stops saw rotation against the side of the saw as I file and the chain is free to spin. Swap legs when changing filing side so you're filing against the leg that is 'locked' under your knee.
  18. Can't remember where I found this pic but it gives an idea about scale and the grid helps
  19. You'd recommend them? I saw them but wasn't sure
  20. I have to be clean shaven for the breathing apparatus, it kills me to buy razors, I've been looking at a cut throat.
  21. I pre rinsed mine in the bath. Then found the middle, daisy chained and into the washer.
  22. But what did he choose / should have chose?
