  1. Interesting new wind turbine. I'd rather see these in towns and cities instead of modern art sculptures. Might blunt your chain though lol New wind turbine looks like a tree, generates power silently - Geek
  2. I couldn't comment on price as I only saw the display at the APF.
  3. I was going to suggest horses. It's amazing to watch a proper working horse.
  4. Bit of a breeze at the top of the tree was there?? 😉
  5. Got mine last night. Hoping to get some more if the kids leave me with any money. Fingers crossed for the ropepod sidewinder
  6. I use the look out the window weather channel. If I need future forecast I use http://www.xcweather.co.uk When I did my Navy sailing course the trainers didn't like the met office predictions and suggested the above site.
  7. I had a client make a warm mince pie and cream. That's next level stuff right there!!
  8. No chance the axe is blunt lol Did think about putting some chaps and a chainsaw on especially this time of year. A member of the public stopped and told us about a fallen tree but we got a shout and the council were all over it by time we got back
  9. I've been working for the fire service since July just waiting for a full time position. Went to a RTC at night and could tell they had hit an Ash by the smell.
  10. Tried changing to chef when I was in the navy. My branch would let me go so I left and started tree work. I love cooking
  11. Have you not read the protos threads? They comment on how the ear protection isn't chipper rated lol.
  12. I'm a former sailor and I prefer hitches. With practice you can tie a bowline in 5 seconds. Even with cold (December in the Baltics) fingers.
  13. I'm in a local caravan club so I go away roughly every other weekend from Easter. Love my caravan despite the jokes about being a tree surgeon with a caravan.
  14. Sleeper cab truck with a crane behind the cab. Space behind that for a tracked chipper/boxer/mini digger /stump grinder/ logs. At the back of the bed would be a chip box.
  15. Does it do anything interesting while you're watching it
  16. I recommend a rechargeable as you'll soon get peed off with buying batteries
  17. If you get a full width tail ramp on your trailer there's no need to take it off.
  18. I know what I'd rather sit in front of
  19. 👍 Genius
  20. Field test complete with some minestrone soup.
  21. Early this year I brought a 2nd Xbox 360 plus a few games for £60. The price has dropped out now Xbox 1 is out
  22. I have a Xbox 360. And I won't be upgrading to the xbox1. I can pick up games from £3 each for older titles and just brought GTA5 for £15. I don't play online as I refuse to pay to play
  23. I brought my 'son' one for his first Christmas (he's 12 next week)
  24. Some pics as promised. Careful due to use of knives and sharp edges on drinks can Empty can (doesn't have to be a soft drink if that helps) Cut the inside of the top out leaving the folded rim Cut out a thumb width band, 2fingers from the bottom (330ml size can) Dent all the way round, 1 finger space. Ensuring there is a dint on the shoulder Should look something similar to this Put the top inTo the bottom. Pierce a small hole in the shoulder (doesn't have to be in the U) Add a splash of fuel. Surgical spirit/rubbing alcohol etc Light. Don't worry about finger hair. Stand back and marvel at the magic of fire you've created Put a pan on ( I'm using an old mess tin) CAREFULLY Snuff to extinguish. I knocked it over as the can caught a burr on the tin. Which caused A fire over the chopping board and hob (don't tell the missus) it took 10min to heat 1.2 litres (6/7 cups worth. I'll test it with bacon on site on Monday.
  25. Saw a alcohol stove on a bushcraft website. Thought I'd have a go at making it and it was awesome. A drinks can, knife and some surgical spirit and I had a little stove that boiled a pan of water in a few min. Will sort some pics out ASAP
