  4. Hi just down the road from me is a small yew forest that apparently was planted for bow making ,obviously nobody’s managed it for that for yrs and yrs,if I get a chance I will take the dog for a run there and have a look,I know it’s miles but if you want to come and have a look then no worries

  7. So guys how do you clamp your mill to the trailer when you are taking it to a job I have been thinking about how to clamp it but thought I would ask others what they do Thanks Mark
  8. Hi guys ,so I have finally got my sawmill dialled in and I am now looking for unusual timber and fruit wood for milling I am in Dorset so any of you tree surgeons come across anything do give me a shout collection isn’t an issue. Thanks Mark

Hi guys I finally got a few hours yesterday morning to fit my last new ripper 37 band on my woodland mill 130 , after months of not getting the time ,the matey who rents some space in our workshop hassled me into doing it and with his help we got it tracked in all levelled,super chuffed milled a few small yew boards ,I have already made some ramps not the tidiest weld but it stood up to the lump hammer test ,got some monkey puzzle,holly ,oak going to be busy ,it’s been a long time coming but at last I can do some milling with my new mill will post some pics soon. Hi I have thought about changing out the motor but it’s an 8hp motor and apparently they are hard to come by and expensive so if I have to spend £500 or more might as well just get some sort of 3 phase sorted then if more 3 phase kit comes up eg dust extraction,surface planers etc I will be able to run them as well .
  12. Hi guys ,so the converter Eggsy was trying to get me turned out to be F###ed so I am still looking for a 3 phase converter or generator if any of you come across anything please let me know Thanks Mark

  14. Hi yep Marc total ace couple of guys got those butts to my yard, the dangerous looking old cutting thing is a turnip cutter we have been told , I am going to dismantle it and use the bits for furniture .

  18. Hi Bill it’s F###ing hard with pricing as we always want to do the best work we can but then most of the time we end up paying ourselves like £4 an hour people are always telling me my prices are too cheap .

  21. Hi on an auction site called bid spotter ,there is the contents that are left in 2 wood shops in a Manchester College not much any good apart from the very nice woodwork benches and metal cupboards all going really cheap maybe worth a look
  22. Hi I have checked with my sparky who revamped our electrics in the workshop and he reckons we are fine as we have 2 , 32 amp scockets one for the welder and another for my girlfriends stained glass kiln but we wouldn’t be able to use them all at the same time
